hi there everyone, been a really long while since I posted any material here or even posted at all!

I've recently decided to change my producing name from AniG to Gravity so as to avoid common misconceptions of the pronunciation of AniG which was always annoying !

Anyway cutting to the chase, i recently made a new track and was hoping for a few reviews.

Hey mate.

Giving it a go...

Big bass drum. It isn't too bad, missing some really low end... I'll see what bass brings. 1:40. Yup, there's the bass..

2:00 New high layer. Very energetic.

3:20. Nice warm pads.
4:00 a little muffled. good build up.
4:30 sounds a bit messy IMO. Great lead synth sound & pattern.

5:10 BD kicks back in. I think it is a bit cluttered. It's ahuge sound you are going for. I think the cymbals are overwhelming.

Great work AniG. Thx for sharing.

thanks for the kind words xeno.

yeh ive been really trying to get the mastering down a lot better but its always a really hard job for me :S
ill probably keep going back to edit the few things you said, i agree with the hats being overwhelming, but its something that i find hard to master.

Giving this a listen.

Very Alphazone on speed feel to it. Nothing wrong in that.

I think the problem with this track is the stereo imaging and panning.

Whilst kick are in their best place, you seem to have frequencies lower or equal to the bassline that are panned far left and right. I think it's a sub bass style sound that is panned right.

The clap seems to be slightly off time but that could just be me... recovering from a long weekend.

Your hi hats seem to be central to the mix and you are better off spreading them out a little. Think of how a drum kit looks and work on that principal. If you are using a lop that's in mono, you may want to break up all the segments of it and pan them left and right accordingly.

You may also need to be a bit harsher with the lead and start taking out some lower freqs.

Might also want to take the pad away from the centre of the mix. Send it to two separate channels and stick a slight verb on one and pan them left and right and hear the sound open up.

Simple guidlines to panning. Keep all low freq stuff closer to the center. Never pan for the sake of it, make sure you have a purpose when you do it. So think of how a band is set up on stage.

Don't for get to compress your drum tracks and bass together to make them gel, as at the moment it's not giving that tight feeling.

I could be way off of course but try it out.
Nice track otherwise, very Alphazone indeed.

Cheers

Hey AniG,

sorry this is coming a little late, but I've had a terribly busy week.

The kick is very boomy, I dont know if this is what you wanted, but I have to say the kick and the sub bass go really well together.
The percussions are really fast and driving. This has the kind of energetic fast pace I like.
The lead is pretty cool, nice synth sound.
Now the breakdown melody is intense! Liking it.
Breaks now, it sounds like stuff is clashing a little and there might be some hard limiting that makes it not as tight as it should be.
IMO the lead takes too much space in the mix, it could be just a liiiitle bit turned down.
The main part with the pads at 5:45 is pretty sweet though. You build a very massive wall of sound.

I am definately liking this sound. You are very good at building up tracks, making grooves, stuff like that. There is only one problem, I think that stuff is too loud, especially when the lead comes in. Then this stuff seems to be too much slammed to the limit, it needs a tighter sound with a little more dynamics :)
