seems like a cool idea... i just REALLY hope it's equally weighted on all of the other eras in his life and not so much on just recent stuff (i.e. the release of A Lively Mind and how he wanted to work with an unknown singer... i'm much more interested in his earlier stuff... as i would imagine most people are).

i like the idea on the accompanied 2xCD! I think it would be very difficult to pinpoint 30 or so tracks, though, that would capture his life as a DJ...

why don't you guys start a list of the tracks you think should be on there?
there's got to be at least a couple bored people.

Ch.49 - Rockstar Posing 101

Ch.67 - Why I walked off-stage at Ultra '06 after a couple tech problems...

Info about perfecto, him finding new artists, working with Steve Osborne and BT (which probably wont be in it)...80's and 90's stuff.

Picking the two CDs would not be hard for him.
- Universal Nation
- Butterfly
- Viola
- Just another Day

...the songs that he canned on almost all his mix CDs back in the day.

What he really needs to do is a "Back to Mine" album.

Those typical Oakenfold tracks are all to predictable - now it would be cool to hear a 'back to mine' type album with oakenfolds infulences from hip-hop to trance to rock and pop :happy2:

Just got this and been reading it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Detailed coverage of his hip-hop and balearic days, including a much, much, much more detailed version of the "Four friends go to Ibiza in 1987 and bring back rave culture" story than has ever been told before anywhere, ever.

On the downside, the paper stock the book is printed on is so poor the ink practically rubs off in your hands, and it comes with a CD -- which is just a bloody sampler for A Lively Mind!

It can be ordered from www.amazon.co.uk still isn't up yet on on amazon .com's main site, for you non-Brits out there (most of you ;))
