..A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM MICHIGAN IS SPAWNING THUNDERSTORMS WITH THE RISK OF SOME SEVERE STORMS.. THIS IS AN ALERT TO THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS. IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES TAKE IMMEDIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE INCREASING IN INTENSITY THIS AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE WEST. THIS LINE OF DEVELOPING STORMS EXTENDS FROM THE NORTHWEST OF PEMBROKE SOUTHWESTWARDS THROUGH COTTAGE COUNTRY INTO THE SOUTHWEST. SOME OF THESE STORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME SEVERE WITH TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS GIVING 50 MILLIMETRES OF RAIN AS WELL AS STRONG WIND GUSTS TO 100 KM/H AND LARGE HAIL TO 2 CENTIMETRES. THE ACTIVITY SHOULD MOVE EAST OF THE PROVINCE LATER THIS EVENING. |

Its been spitting off and on here for the last couple hours, but nothing major so far. Though the sky is darkening.
No warning issued for the greater Collingwood area yet though. |
