If places like Beatport are smart enough to prevent me from downloading a track because of a particular region I live in, can't they also be smart enough to not even offer me that track on their site (if it's restricted in my area)? I find it so damn annoying to try and buy a song to only find out it's been restricted in my region.

Or am I just not smart enough to realize this is a setting somewhere that I need to enable? :conf:

i usually make it a point to go and download it for free if they dont want me to buy it

It really is a piss poor system they have for this issue, and as it seems to be one of the biggest gripes people have about the site, you'd figure they'd at the very least attempt to fix it.

I think it might be labels that are making the restrictions.

It's because labels have exclusive distribution rights in certain areas and countries.

In any event, I'd still think they would have a better way to deal with it.

i understand why the restrictions are there... all i'm saying is if it's restricted, don't show it!
