What does any of this have to do with Sony?

I know Sony is hated, but...
SkyHigh
are Ipods not made by sony?

haha, no problem :D

Anyway, I've never actually tried using anything but iTunes to load my music on the iPod, but as far as I know, you can just drag and drop them into the appropriate folder.

I know there are ways around that, but I'm using a Mac so its just easier to use iTunes.

and no, they don't censor unlicensed music. They just prefer you to use iTunes as that is their site to buy legal music. You can use iTunes for unlicensed music. It's just a way for Apple to try and make as much money as possible. If you are forced to use iTunes to upload your songs, they are hopping that you may purchase a song or two for convenience.

iPods do not have the Sony DRM.

Burn the Sony bought songs to CD and then import it using iTunes.
SkyHigh
I actually did import one of my folders into the itune store "thingy"
and it plays on the itune great player:rolleyes:
but it won't load onto the Ipod....

When you plugged in your iPod to your computer, did it pop up a screen to register the new iPod?

Your best best is to reformat the iPod, and when you connect the iPod to your computer, iTunes will automatically open and it'll ask you to register the iPod and will import your songs.

SkyHigh
That is not the point!!!

Why can't I just transfer my songes to the IPOD straight from my drive????

Because that's the way they have always been.

They want you to use their own proprietary software so you will buy legal music from them so that they can make even more money...
