Has to be one of the worst audio/video stores I have ever been to.
I went in asking if they sold antennas, and they looked at me as if I was some kind of alien. I asked young people, and old people who worked there, floor staff, and service staff. They all gave me the same blank look, after which I explained that it was for TV, and they just had no answer.
I futher explained that you can watch HDTV in the GTA through antenna, and that I needed one to get a UHF signal. After 10min of asking, I left in complete frustration.
Comically enough, the guys at Radio Shack knew exactly what I was talking about. |

| Go to any of the stores mentioned to try headphones, but you may get a better price doing a search online. (pending on headphone) |

I highly recommend Moog. I dealt with them when I was buying my CDJs and I experienced friendly and awesome customer service. When I was ready to buy I dealt with the owner and he gave a great price on the decks.
They have a good selection of headphones. One I recommend is the SONY MDR-7506 (I personally use them and they are great)
Dont bother. Overpriced and their staff lack knowledge in the DJ department. Great for guitars, and band equipment, just not for DJ stuff. |

I second this.
The Pioneer and Sony Models (HDJ-1000 and MDR-V700's) although easily the most bought headphones, also are the easiest to ing break. I babied my Pio's, and they broke within a year..... and I don't know a single person who owns the Sony's who haven't had the same complaint.
Sony MDR-7506, although not as 'pretty' - and the sound to me is a bit high with the highs, and low with the low's are overall great... comfortable, and durable.
Seinheisers (sp?) sound ing fantastic as well (but to me had an ackward feel). Definitely wont break on you though. |

Though MDR-7506 is more of a monitor headphone and the bass isn't as emphasized. It sits pretty awkward on your head until you get used to it. Runs about 160 bucks per pair.
Sennheiser HD25 rocks. Looks like it's made from fisher price, but sound quality is just superb and decently built. Only thing wrong is that it runs around 300 bucks. lol
To be fair, trying on a headphone for like 2 mins isn't much of a test drive... lol |

I am really liking the Technics RP-DH1200s.
What would you say about 7506 vs 1200s as far as sound quality goes? and what about bass? |

Having owned both pairs before, I'd def. go with 7506, though this depends on whether you like more bass or more crisp highs.
The techs aren't as comfy as 7506 in long sittings with smaller earpiece that sometimes does not fully block out outside sound. Plus I think RP1200s are about 50bucks extra.
I also broke an RP1200s... Though I did put it through a lot of abuse. Generally, both cans are well made. |

Just IMO, but the other pros of 7506 outweighs everything else on RP1200.
More bass is nice when you're just beginning to learn to mix, but later on, when you learn to mix with just highs, the lack of bass is no longer an issue. Plus sometimes I find that too much bass in headphones muddles my mixing.
But a headphone is a personal preference. Some prefer one type, others prefer something else because it depends on what works for you.
So if you strongly feel that you like RP1200s better, then get them and hope that it works out for you :) |
