I was thinking the same thing :stongue:
Sykonee
Laurent Garnier - Go To Sleep
A Positive Life - The Calling (Ambient Mix)
L.S.G. - Into Deep (the whole album!)
Alter Ego - Undersea Girl
Aphex Twin - Blue Calx
Timeshard - Crystal Oscillations
The Orb - Plateau

Get you started, anyway.

It can be if it's slower and made to sound "deep". There's plenty of good progressive house and trance music that is slower, deeper and more "relaxing". The trick is the tempo, keeping it under say 132 bpm, using relaxing melodies and or more things sound more hypnotic. Lots of Deep House is relaxing I think. Heck I find some faster trance tracks relaxing...like Hydra's "Affinity (Thrillseekers Dub)" or some music by Micro de Govia relaxing..and certaintly a lot of Chicane's music is, but he produces quite a number of non-dance ambient music as well. But to respond to the thread starter....

If you want sleepy..i'de suggest Robert Rich or Steve Roach. Robert Rich even has done "sleep concerts" where people brought pillows and just slept to his music..in a sense letting the minimal, hypnotic sounds of the music put people to sleep. Steve Roach's music is quite sparse and expansive and definitely good music to fall asleep to.

here ya go. i've been working on a drone mix for a while and this is the latest incarnation which i finished about one month ago. if i find the time, i may rework it or expand it. dl it and listen to it with an open mind. you may like it.

it has stuff from aphex twin, Dead Voices On Air, david reeves, dilate, jack the tab, woob, Arthur Dent/Deeper Than Space, and a couple of others. i wanted to put some robert rich in there but couldn't work it in. in what is probably is a signature of my mixes it builds up over the length of the mix. enjoy the journey.

Listen to Groove Salad for some Chillout/Downtempo stuff. Drone Zone is great for Ambient if you really want to listen to some interesting music.

Hey, so just wondering, any of you have goods songs that are really relaxing and whatnot. At the moment all I have like 10 songs or so that are on repeat and those get old kinda fast.
