Closed Atlanta clubs

This kind of started in the old Sasha thread where I heard of Backstreet for the first time. It sounded like a rather nice club but it's been shut down for a few years apparently.

What are some other closed clubs that you've been to and what experiences did you have?

I remember right after I turned 18 my brother took me out to some show at The Globe. Some dj called DJ Grooves was playing and all I remember hearing from his set was Andain - Beautiful Things since I was a ing electronic sapling back then. I remember not really liking it and you add in conjunction the entirely too weak wet t-shirt contest and the fact that the people we went with got us thrown out because they didn't get to see bare at said t-shirt contest and you can say it was a rather experience. They had three djs playing in all actuality: one in the entrance, the mainroom one, and then one out back. The club was a lot like the Loft in that it was mainly concrete, giving it that warehousey vibe. Then there was the giant black guy who was the club x pusher who just sat on a couch in the middle of the floor.

I heard the club closed down soon after that show in March of 2004, and re-opened as a hip-hop club.

Any info?

The Globe? I didnt miss that place at all, it's pretty trashy IMO. Too much when down at the place just like the Atrium. One place I miss the most was Riviera, that was the place that got me clubbing at first. Pretty decent music and it opened til 7am, too much memory in that place. Backstreet was definitely one place to remember. I remember PvD @ Club NV was an classic night, a small place yet but a very intimate vibe. I've been to NV for hip hop nights b4 but it was no match for an EDM night

I've heard many ppl talked about Chamber back in the days but I've never been to the place myself

The Globe was a piece of crap that had crappy DJs most of the time. Sorry for taking you there man. Even if that place was still an EDM club I don't think I would go back there.

I had some fun experiences there though. I got thrown out/ forced out twice that I know of for different reasons. It was fun.

I, too, miss the Riv! Man, the most banging night I can ever remember there was Johnny Vicious. Holy crap! I wish there was some damn place to get some great trance music Fri/Sat.

I went to Crackstreets (Backstreets) all of maybe 10 times. They had the best music in town and open like 24/7 on the weekends, at least. Damn shame. I mean I don't think there's a single place in Atlanta that plays good music and is open till dawn.

Blame that on the curfew. I think there's a few underground clubs that stay open until 6am, like Volt Vault (or whatever the name is/was if it's even open any more) I've just never been to any of them.

Ha, as durty as The Globe was, I had some AWESOME times there... We used to go there and party all night to some cheesy breaks and trance, then head over to Backstreet for "sunday church".... I'll never forget how 5 AM at Backstreet, the place just changed... Brett Long would come on and just LEVEL the place...

I still remember my 1st time at the Globe.. it was the first time I saw DJ Icey and DJ Santana (from Orlando, not Omar Santan)... it was a free party... one of the sickest nights I ever had on the Atlanta rave scene... Yea, the place had some crazy, sketch going on, but I tell ya, if you could stand it, you were thouroughly entertained for the entire night :)

Funny how Level 3 never took off... I never heard anything good about it.. I think I remember them having George Acosta, lol... :p
