| My eyesight is actually too poor for me to focus on any stars. I do enjoy laying down and watching clouds |

too much light pollution around here. sometimes, on drives between the megalopolis i love to look up.
and there's nothing quite like peering through a telescope and actually seeing the rings of saturn or the eye in jupiter. |

I blame the stars for the light pollution. It's a star that gave us our light, amirite? I just don't like them. |

Perhaps they should blow up the sun then...its a star after all:p
Light pollution be damned...there is nothing better IMO than smoking a big joint, lying on the ground looking up at night and staring at the stars...just getting lost in them. You stare long enough you see quite a few shooting stars. Also fun to find the constellations. What always trips me out though is the thought that the light you're seeing took thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of years to reach the Earth...for all you know what you are looking at may have blown up or died out years ago.
I've heard in some cities they try to use a specific kind of lighting (sodium I believe) so that skywatchers can use light-filters on their telescopes to filter out the artificial light. Sadly I don't think many cities participate in this. |

its fun to look up and see the big dipper and . telescopes are really only good for planetary or rocky-core objects. not gassy stuff like stars. |

:wtf: I've already used one for over 4-5 years. Left it in India before coming over to US. Telescopes are actually useful to see deep sky objects like star-clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Of course, gazing at planets and our moon is also fun. |
