Hi everyone :D
I am getting a new audio interface keyboard and have two options: The M-Audio Ozonic and the Novation X-Station.
This week I was in contact with a guy selling a M-Audio Ozonic for 430$, but some other guy snatched it right in front of me xP. This, however, led me to doing some more research on other audio interface keyboards, and coming over the Novation X-Station I thought this must be the ultimate purchase. Audio unit, midi controller / keyboard AND a K-station synth!
This is what I'll be using the audio interface keyboard for:
- Controlling DAW & VST's
- Live performance
- DJing
To be able control DAW & VST's I need assignable midi controls.
- Can I assign all the controllers on the X-Station ?
To be able to perform live, I need the same.
- However the K-Station won't be used for performing
To be able to DJ, I need to be able to cue my tracks.
- Do I have several audio outputs with the X-Station, and am I able to choose what output to listen to through the headphones output ?
Which audio interface do you recommend me to get ? I simply like the looks of the Ozonic better, and do not perhaps need the synth as much as I think, so I am very uncertain when it comes to which one to get.
Ozonic or X-Station ?
Thanks,

I would get neither, personally.
But anyway... the X-Station has one stereo out and one headphone out. Whether or not you can use this for djing depends on if the headphone out is independant or not. It is most likely just linked to the main audio out... hence why it is called "headphone monitor out".
You might need to check the manual or call a shop to figure that one out. |
