Armin van Buuren...as someone else already mentioned, he has a tendency to be more creative with his remixes. PvD's remixes are okay, but nothing special. He does do some good "re-edits" like in his sets, but at remixing, Armin van Buuren has more memorable (to me at least) remixes..like...

Aria - Dido
Iio - Rapture
Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy
Moogwai - Viola
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
Shane's - Too Late To Turn, C'est Musique
Solid Sessions - Janeiro
Solar Stone - Seven Cities

These are absolutely massive...phenomenal remixes IMO. PvD's don't stand out to me.

they both are great, but one of my all time favorite tracks is PvD's remix of Humate - Love Stimulation! PvD played it this past April after signing my original release of vinyl that I tracked down and got myself for my bday.

also BT - Flaming June! :D

I only really liked one remix by PVD, which was his version of Members of Mayday - 10 in 01.

Pwned imo.

When it comes to consistency I'd say Armin.

AVB all the way!

Common knowledge, yes

Armin is the more creative remixer. Its a difficult and pointless argument.

Incorrect. Those are reworks. Remixes are different.

A good example of someone who reworks is Sean Tyas.

PvD, as well as most other DJs, rework because they like the original structure of the track, but want a sound that will fit their style. It makes sense really.

PvD's remix of 1998 is a stunning peice of work - should be considered the best remix of all time. When i hear it it feels like I'm on speed..........

Haha, shut up you tit. If you can't take someones opinion then fuk off this board.

His remixes do all sound very similar, his productions follow the same suit. Hes a hell of a dj, but I don't really rate him as a producer. Hes surprsed me of late though with some good new tracks.

Paul van Dyk remixes arent just adding harder kick....
Born Slippy, Cream, 36Grad, Pictures etc are so much different from the original

PvD has been slacking lately in the production department but he was one of the most influential producers back in the day

Yeah, the remix of love stimulation (the 93 remix) is a great one.
Recently I also love the PvD's remix of Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream.

Moogwai - Viola is the best rmx by AvB in my opinion

They are both egal for me.

I'll throw in my two cents:

I think PVD is better at remixing tracks but AVB is better at producing tracks and having talented people remix them.

PS: Cosmic Gate's remix of This World is Watching Me -- HOT!
