So my Europe Trip is not gonna fly and I decided to do a US road trip starting in good ole Minnesota, driving down to the Southern end of Cali and up the coast. Eventually Ill get to washington (dont know how far up....) and ill head back east through montana and to MN..

My dilema is accomidations... Right now it is supposed to be a laid back trip that me and one of my buds are takin. We dont really wanna hafta live by a schedule, but from what it seems, camping places and whatnot all want reservations. Mind you, this is all out of a book, and thats why im posting this. I need to know of *ANY* good plcaes to stay anywhere in Cali, Oregon, and Washington. I figure well jump back and forth as we head up, but wanna stay near the coast. So if you guys/girls have any suggestions about campgrounds or places to sleep in general - i guess about cool places to go as well - they would be much appreciated.

cheers

As far as Washington goes, my favorite camping place is Deception Pass. It's is really beautiful. You would probably have to do some research to find out exactly where it is, but it would definately be woth it worth it. Anyway, where ever you decide to go up here is going to be dope! - Lovely

thanks! do i need to make any reservations, is there any cost?? this is the kinda stuff i need to know. :)

BTW, is Washington a lot like Oregon? For the last 5 years I have been at summer race camps at Mt. Hood and the area around there is gorgeous. I love it over there. Anyways, thanks.

well i dunno how you are heading out there(direction wise) but if you chose to go thru Colorado, you can stay in Boulder. i can also recommend some cool places...this doesnt sound like the direction you are traveling tho! heh me and my peeps are planning something similar, only we havent tried this hard yet...late/

well, camping on the peninsula close to the ocean in WA just kicks ass!
that's where i'd recommend...or going camping next to Mt. Rainier. look those two places up, and if you swing by Seattle, (and if i'm actually in the states, not Europe;)) i'll meet up with u and chill....kinda like when ABT, Dream Grl were here:)

Dude, Oregon's the hella tight! ahah

If you plan to stay on the coast of Oregon, then almost every beach is campable. Little cities like Tilamook, Seaside, or Astoria have open beach camping grounds for the public. We used to take camping trips to the shore all the time. Florence is a sweet ass place to go camping since they have a sand dune that you can camp on.

As far as Washington, the only town I've ever been to on the coast is Aberdeen and it was pretty nice. Really quiet and some hot ass girls. uumm, small town girls. hahaha

Have a good trip. I love road trips, they are soo refreshing.

aberdeen sucks and i would never give advice for anyone to go there. its a teeny little town full of sketchy people. i know a person who grew up there, and personally had a few friends murdered, as well as was indirectly involved in a lot of shady

Oh well,

Like I said I don't go to Washington alot, so I would never know where to go on the coast. If you lived in Oregon you would never WANT to go to Washington. vice versa for Washingtonians.

All I know is that Aberdeen was the only coastal town in WA that I've ever been to. I usually drive through Washington on my way to Vancouver. ahhahaha

anyhow, have a good trip. and hit some TAs on the way. Ask Robbie(ABT) for some travel advice.:whip:

i want to spend as little as possible, but i accept the fact that i very well may have to pay for every night i stay somewhere (except a few where i got connections haha.) Hopefully, though, we can manage just camping on the beach a lot for cheap.. is that possible?? I just need an idea of how many beaches PROHIBIT camping (i really have no idea if this will be a big or small number, remember i live in Minnesota ;)) Anyways im tryin to keep a small "accomidations: budget.. i figure when I cant sleep somewhere free I can always find a KOA campground or something... who knows.

QuickStep: :) I went to Robby first, man.. kid knows his , or at least has some good experience to offer. Also, in Oregon Ive been to Oswald Nat'l Park (the good surfin spot) and Manzanita.. both places where sweet as hell, but im not sure if camping *free* is gonna be feasable.. i know there are places to stay and i cant really imagine that two people staying in a tent for a night or two will get really expensive. So i guess payin for a night is ok, but the real issue here is the fact that there will have to be more structure to the trip, which IMO is not ideal - i want to be able to go as i please. :):D

Thanks everyone
