Hey... just curious... what's in everybody's bag? (or should I make a thread for that?)
I have a Wilson mallet putter, Titlelist DCI 962 irons, Adams Tight Lies 3 and 5 woods, and I usually play without a driver, since I'd rather play for accuracy than distance.
... and Justin.... I knew you were experienced from the pics of you driving form. |
I need some new clubs, but i haven't golfed much in the past couple years though so no point.
Got a set of Taylor Made Rifle shaft irons (don't remember the make), a Taylor Made Driver, and a Taylor made putter.
I never use any woods though. I use my 2-iron mostly for long shots. The furthest I've hit my 2-iron is approx. 280 yards.
I've always been a long ball hitter, and can hit my irons further than most people I know...i just need to practice on my accuracy. |

But to be honest, for golf, you can by the top of the line equipment, but if you don't learn how to properly swing and practice, it won't help you one bit.

Go to Golftown. They are having promotions all over the place right now. Grab yourself a decent set of irons (500-600), wedges- a 54 degree and 60 degree and a good putter. The driver you can save on. Don't get a good one yet.
Once you start you WILL get hooked. Practice your short game a get a few lessons to get you off on the right foot. There isn't anything worse in golf than ingraining a poor swing into muscle memory.
Hope that helps. Keep it in the short grass. |

the over-rotation on your back swing is unnecessary. reduce that or you won't be able to swing come 30 years of age. |
