Take it with a grain of salt:

If you thought Final Fantasy IV DS was just going be another shoddy remake with pretty graphics, you're wrong. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Square-Enix developer Takashi Tokita revealed that nearly 3/4 of Final Fantasy IV's original script ended up being cut from the original SNES release. Tokita states that some of this material will be reworked into the upcoming DS remake.

It always felt like the story in FFIV moved a little too quick for my tastes, so this comes as great news. Most importantly, it's great to know we aren't getting the same core game with extra dungeons tacked on this time around (glances at FF GBA titles).

Hopefully this livs up to the hype - but I'm certainly not expecting it to.

No need to get my hopes up.

lol, I didn't mean to say it in a "this isn't worth getting now" manner, I just really wonder how much "4x" new content is actually going to be.

I'm still going to get it for sure - I'm just not going to blow my wad over announcements of new content until I play it. ;)

rob.. there's a secret item in the game... called a spoon

i never knew wtf it was so just stashed it away in my inventory, but later on found out it does some crazy 9999hp damage, which can be awesome for final boss.

of course this was way back in 1991 when i first played the game, w/o internet and w/o gamefaqs.

thought i'd give you a heads up!

I'm still not feeling the character designs, they're some amalgamation of super-deformed and more regular proportions that just doesn't work for me... but FF4 is one of the best games of all time though. The soundtrack totally blew me away when the game first came out.
