The contributions of the United States, Russia and, to a lesser degree, France were all incredibly important in crushing Germany. The supplies that the United States sent to Britain alone enabled them to keep on fighting while everyone else sat back and watched. We also sent unbelievable quantities of supplies to Russia.
To say that it was only America or only Russia who helped Britain out (saved some say - though I really don't know how well a land assault would have done against the British people) is to ignore some pretty well known history.
That Churchill cried with joy when the U.S. ambassador told him what he would say to Roosevelt upon his return shows he knew full well the importance of American assistance and what it would mean for Britain. |

how you can even compare world war 2 and team america:world police is beyond me. we were being invaded, and thankfully you answered our calls for help by sending ammo.
it wasnt until the japs bombed pearl harbour you got involved in fighting on the front line, because you suffered loss of life first hand.
team america:world police on the other hand, we have been with you since the start (mainly cos blair is a , and scared of bush), and now 2-3 years on the problem is still as bad if not worse than it was before this kicked off. not to mention the pointless loss of life both us and you have suffered.
sometimes u need to recognise you made a mistake and get out while you still can. hopfully tony's bumboy gordon brown can do so. |
