Vivid Boy
i could live without anything im an easy going guy

i dont need material just $$$ i dont have any items really in my room just my clothes and my bed...i have a laptop that isnt mine which im using right now....and my pc the one thing i thought i couldnt live without i had to give to my brother as collatoral because i owed him cash....oh and i have a 2001 civic...but honestly i think i could live without that as well
biznology
i think im with vivid. i lived 85% of my life without the damn internet and mp3s, i think i could make it longer. im not about to dump all my out the window - but when you remove yourself from your current situation you realize how much you DONT miss all this crap.

some people would disagree - but as im leaving Michigan for the summer - i prolly wont come on to TA much until next year. of course that means i dont have the latest in trance...but after summer last year it was nice not to be addicted to the damn internet. Tv is also something i could easily live without. A bed or something squishy to sleep on is prolly my one requisite.

the thing about all these posessions is that if NOBODY had beds/cell phones/mp3s/internet...you wouldnt want them. all we NEED in life is air, water and food(occasionally) - especially in America. late/

and dont tell me your a big .

im not a hippy, even tho i smoke. im a upper middle class white kid who goes to school in Michigan and lives in Colorado. there isnt anything special about me. im just being logical - and its my belief.

we are all just monkeys that created a bunch of stuff to make our lives 'easier' and all that just makes it more complicated.

im being ing serious...maybe you have a lack of will power, but if i had to give all my up i could. as long as i had shelter, food and water. i guess that answers your question.

dont start the thread if you dont want to hear opinions. that is by far the most rediculous flame i have ever read in my time here...ass/

I agree 100%! I really think that under diferent situations people want/need different things. just a fact of life. People in Somalia dont have internet, they dont want it.

I can't live without my 3 month old brand new Alienware Comp. It just is so special to me. Kicks ass for gaming (GF3 Ti500), but especially for music :

Dual 100 GB, 7200 RPM 8 MB Cache Hard Drives
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum! External
Klipsch Promedia v5.1

You can't go wrong with that.

Dude:eek: Calm down..it was just a failed attempt to be funny. Trust me If i wanted to rip on you i would. But thats not me and or my style. Im sure you know by now almost EVERYONE here smokes including me, thats why i put that there. anyway thats off the point. The point is we can all live without everything we have right now as long as we have some sort of shack with a roof on it, good health, and water. If i wanted to as well i could blow all my up and be left with nothing and be completly happy. I have friends and family which is 100 times better than any mp3 or computer or whatever i put before. therefor im thankfull. call this thread worthless who cares, you're right i asked for opinions by putting this up. sorry if i offeneded you. Hopefully you take my Apologies.

Yup.

electric hybrid: i was in vancouver.. which is really, really, really notorious for having that problem (people who have a washington license plate having their car broken into/egged/vandalized just cuz its american)

biznology: i do agree with you, technically we dont need anything except what you mentioned. that is a fact of life. human contact could maybe also be added since humans are social creatures.

but lifestyles are different, we grow up differently. you grew up 85% of your life without internet you say..

well, im 21.. but ive been on computers since i was 6-7 (doing programming in BASIC in first grade in this special school thing i went to once a week)... had an atari.. then 486, blah blah... first exposure to any sort of internet i suppose was with BBS'es a good 7+ years ago or so... then ppp started coming around, etc etc. ive been with computers my entire life. i work with computers, im around computers, im on my computer pretty much any time im at home doing whatever, and to be honest, i am attached to them in some way. yes, this is a bad thing, but at the same time, i honestly see our future heading more towards that direction.. total automation of tasks, and more reliance on technology.

tho in a way, i dont think thats bad.. because i think we all need to be cyborgs and/or relient on that technology anyways to fulfill our potential.

and kids these days are immersed with it... generations are changing while technology is more available and people become dependent on it.

i kind of went off on a tangent, i guess what im trying to say is that i know we technically dont NEED anything as such, but i would really, really, really, really not be happy if i had to give up my computer.. or any new technology or toys.. so in a way, i could say that i "need" it... for my sake of mind... maybe not in a physical aspect.
