So am I missing something in these news articles, or has there been no confirmation of explosives even being in the Jeep?
I personally think that suspending all flights is ridiculous. The problem seems to have been contained and there is no need for mass panic.
These bomb discoveries aren't really a big surprise to me at all. I think it's great how good a job the authorities are doing to prevent big attacks with 0 casualties so far. Things like this are going to happen, but there is no need to halt air travel or go crazy. Let the authorities do their jobs, and you do yours. |

Airport security's always been pretty tough, esp. after 9/11.
You can't blame these dudes though.
One of the favourite tactics for terrorists is initial attempt, then as the rescue and security crew comes to the scene, detonate a secondary bomb.
So, you gotta be for sure be sure because one slip up means someone ends up dead. |

um... that's not entirely acurate.
NYC - 9/11 (thousands killed)
Madrid - train bombings (almost 300 killed?)
London - subway bombings (50 somethign killed)
Bali Bombings (200ish killed - in Indonesia but mostly western tourists killed)
Chapel Hill North Carolina - The iranian dude that drove his car into a crowd of people and killed like 10 0f them.. done to "avenge the deaths of muslims"
and there's more. we only hear about "the big stuff" over here.

but we're taking somewhat of a neutral stance... i would think there would be another attack on the US before something hits us |
riiiight... people seem to forget the 17 people arrested in Toronto last year with fertilizer in hand ready to bomb front st, bay st and parliament.
But "it will happen in the US before it happens here".

| Canada is just as much at risk as any other western or european country, for a terroist attack. That is the scary part about these extremists. They will kill or plan to kill as many people as possible, in their own country or somewhere else, to push their agenda or whatever you want to call it. |

UK terror threat now 'critical'
Prime Minister Gordon Brown urged the public to be vigilant and added: "I know the British people will stand together, united and resolute."
The announcement came after a meeting of the government emergencies committee Cobra, following a burning car being driven into a Glasgow airport terminal.

Bomb scare prompts evacuation of Spain's Ibiza airport
Police have carried out a controlled explosion at the airport on the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza, after the building was evacuated.
The airport was cleared after Basque newspaper Gara, often used for claims by separatist group Eta, said it had received an anonymous threat.
Spain has been on alert since Eta declared an end to a unilateral ceasefire on 5 June.
Ibiza attracts thousands of mainly European holidaymakers annually.
Gara said on its website that it had received a phone call warning of an "explosive device" at the airport.
The building was evacuated at about lunchtime and shortly afterwards a low-level explosion was heard.
Some 300 arrivals and departures were scheduled for Saturday, but the airport has been closed to outgoing and incoming flights, said the AENA airport authority, which controls Spain's airports.
Spanish authorities have been braced for a possible attack since Eta announced the end to what it had called a permanent ceasefire.
Despite the ceasefire, two people were killed in a bomb explosion at Madrid's Barajas airport in December. |

My point was that Canadians died during terrorists attacks too, and Canada has a stake in stamping out terrorists. |
