i have been using reason with my midi keyboard connected through a usb midi interface for quite a while now and have had no problems.
i recently upgraded to cubase using reason as a slave but when using my keyboard in cubase i get a short delay that i never had in reason. does anyone know what is causing this and how to solve it?
any feedback is much appreciated. |

Check your ASIO settings, lower the latency to fix the problem. |

when i first installed cubase i had latency problems even with the key editor, i changed my asio settings to sort that out and i dont get any latency with the key editor now its just with my midi keyboard |

I think on your midi tracks, if u set your input to "your midi keyboard" as opposed to "all inputs" this might help get rid of this latemcy, worked for me anyways |

Have you tried a different driver? I had really bad latency when I started using Cubase then switched to the KX driver - I now use the ASIO4ALL driver and dont have any problems at all.

ASIO4ALL is only for onboard sound, and really you're always going to have some sort of latency problems with these set ups.
Make sure you're using the latest downloaded driver from the manufacturers website (not the ones on the disc) as they are nearly always out of date.
If you need to use a newer driver don't update, uninstall the old harware and re-install.
It really does sound like a driver issue though. |

What kind of soundcard are your using?
If its OEM then you may not be able to lower the latency enough to a level that will sustain your issues running rewire. |
