[Review] Boys Noize @ Hiro Ballroom: Sick F*CKIN' Electro! [PICS + VIDS]

Holy mother of God, what an amazing set!! The music was insane! Some sick tech-house, electro, rock, and tons of killer electroclash FTMFW!! :haha: This was definitely worth calling out of work the next morning LOL! Awesome crowd as usual, open bar, free admission, live band, and DVD screening of Afro Samurai. Can't really ask for much more.
Kerowack opened for Kid Alex (Boys Noize) and they spun a killer techno and tech-housey set w/some electro. Sorry I didn't get to record any of their stuff. They were amazing nonetheless!
Alex spun such a high energy set. It was definitely hard to stand still while recording :tongue2. The vids are kinda dark, but the sound is top notch. :happy2:
The freakin' breakdown at 1 min 30 secs! So in' nasty!! :disbelief

Teenage Badgirl - Cocotte (Boys Noize Remix) Definitely in my top 5 of vinyl I own. Such a beautiful track! :wtf:
It's great that it's no problem for us to be up on stage at any point in the night.

The 2nd track in this vid is one of the craziest I've ever heard!!! The track has about 5 times more bass than you can hear in the vid. Any clues on the ID would be awesome! :happy2:

Hopefully this'll hold me until Alex's album is released in September and he goes on US tour. Definitely was glad to find out that he's gonna be back for this year's I <3 TECHNO in Belgium!!! Gotta hit that up!:happy2:
Not sure why there aren't more electro heads on TA. I think it's a pretty fun genre, especially live. Maybe the BPM's too slow for a lot of you :p . Hope you enjoyed the clips nonetheless :D .

| oh mannn...NOT BAD at all. Sucks that most of the shows are on Thursdays at Hiro, and unfortunately i need to get a full nights rest on workdays or else i just can't function :( someday... |

glad you enjoyed the vids.. hopefully when he goes on US tour in the fall he'll play here on a friday or saturday :cool:. i'm gonna bring vinyls of some of the tracks in the vids up to rhode island next weekend. maybe you'll get to hear some :) . |

Cool to stay away from!!?? What's that supposed to mean? You must pick the wrong nights to go buddy :p . I've never been there on a night other than a Thursday, and it's always awesome music, similar to the vids I posted above + the crowd is always rockin'. Wish I could go every Thursday like I used to, but dragging myself in to work the next day just gets to be too much after a while. |
