[Review] Ferry Corsten in SF/LA

My Ferry weekend starts Friday after work. I head to the airport a little after 6. After parking and changing into real close I go check in. The flight was delayed by 20 minutes! Not a long Delay.. but still 20 minutes is 20 Minutes! I get to the gate and had so much time to kill I go grab a drink at the bar. Back at the gate I turn on the ipod and wait.
Plane starts to board. Since southwest doesn't have assigned setting I missed the chance to sit by the window. So I grab an aisle. Plane Takes off and in an hour lands at OAK.
Berrince is there to pick me up. After I get my bag we are off to San Fransisco!!! Get to the hotel a little after 10. And it was pretty much time to get ready and go to Ruby Sky. I heard the Guest list closed at 11 So I give myself 30 minutes to get ready walk down the five flights of stairs and then Meet Berrince down in the lobby. The hotel was right around the corner from the club! WHOOO HOOOO!
But by 11pm the guest list line was pretty long. So I pull one of my cut the line moves (kinda slip in where the barricaded ends)and get for it by the guys in front of me. I knew that I would. So I just told them.. hey look I am by myself.. all my other friends are in and the line is too long. :haha:( I was also in a short shirt and go-go's) At least they where pretty cool about it.
Once I get in I hit the bar and out to the dance floor to meet Matt and gang. The tag team duo where on and imo where playing pretty hard for the start of the night. Imo it was a little to hard to open.. Around midnight right after a crazy psy trance song.. they slowed down the beats. It was also around this time that a person in a full on Bunny costume came on the dance floor! :haha: All of the attention went to focuses on the crackhead who had to be hot in that thing.
I also see an old friend who I have not seen in a long time on the stage. Security was not there yet so she got me up there. Out of the corner of eye I see Ferry and make a quick bee line just to say hi! Good move since a short while after Security came and where about to kick everyone off without a wrist band.. even Ferry!!! :haha: :haha: We got our wrist bands and stayed up there to get pictures and such.
Ferry was about to go on but my spot is one the dance floor. Went down there and it was packed! Grabbed a good spot and stuck my ground for the most part.
Ferry gets behind the decks and the place goes NUTS! For 4 hours Ferry played an amazing Dance your ass of SET!!!

Where some of the amazing tunes I heard. I was going back and froth from the stage to the main floor. The Dance floor was packed.. and packed with pretty rude people. I felt the penis dance by this one guy a few times. I would move to the side and would feel him behind me again. A lot of pushing and shoving was going on.
I actully had to yell at this one guy b/c he would sick his arm out to talk to a friend in front of my face! GRRR GRRR GRRR
I can deal with that.. so I was on Stage dancing there.
Once I was up there I head the first couple beats of my track come on.: Avan All I want to do. I ran down stars found Matt and went nuts. He both love this track. I found my spot. and with a huge smile on my face sang the words.
After that track was his last. I wanted to thank Ferry for playing it so back up I went. Matt and Friends where in tow. Ferry's last track was Out of the Blue

It was time to go.. So we got some more pictures even a group TA ONE!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!! It was so great meeting some new SF TA's up there. You guys are so NICE! :D :D :D :D
It was back to the hotel and crash in the nicest bed where the pillows just eat you. Up at 10:30 too shower pack and get ready for round 2.
With this Trip there was really no time to explore. I grabbed some Breakfast got my bags and was on the bart to the airport.
I get to the airport pretty early. I rather be early then late. Walked down a few gates and grabbed a drink at the bar. Back to the gate too wait.
Flight was on time this time. So I grabbed an aisle set in the front. I was trying to plan what time I had to get ready in Burbank before the in store. Since I only had my purse I was off the plane fast. Everything was like clock work. My bag was one of the first out and I grabbed the shuttle bus that was waiting right there! WHOOO HOOO!!
It was off to Sarah's to get ready. Go get Christine and Gang and head down to the in store at Virgin. We get there an hour early so we grab some coffee from Buzz. While waiting I met janeway529 from the FC board. :) Then at 7:45 back in the store to get our spots. :)
A little bit before 8pm Ferry comes. Stops by to say hi and I had to show him my cool shirt I got made for the night! On the front it said Ferry Corsten. On the back there was a gif. of United States with Passport in it! :D :D :D Ferry was ready to play but the speakers where not even set up! We got to the store at 7. Made me wonder what they where doing for that hour. Ferry plays a cool 1/2 hour set. Christine and I as well as a few other people controlled the front. I do not know why people stayed back! After the set we got in line and got our CD's or what not autographed.
After the in store we took off back to Christine's hotel got her tickets and went to the club. The guest list line was not long.. but the club was not even open yet. And there was all ready a good sized line. It was a little after 9:30 when they started letting people in. Ummm ok.. at least it moved quick. Once in it was bathroom break then to the bar. Then to say hi to everyone. Randy was one the decks playing a nice warm up house set.
At 10:30 Ferry takes over the decks and the place goes nuts. Ferry starts off with a more progressive housey/trancie set. I LOVED IT! He played Matt Cerf's Light the Sky(orgi)\o/ The dance floor gets more packed. But at least people where nice.
Track after Track after Track Ferry played was amazing. He had a really nice progression of sound. Then hit as all with amazing Trance.
He played some simalr tracks he did while he was in SF. He even played Avan all I want to do AGAIN!! YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY But there where a lot I did not recognize. Right after L.E.F here was a new not even titled Ferry track then Junk. Ferry needs to hurry up and name it. It kicked some serious ASS!!!
Wow! I mean wow! I was the happiest girl in the whole wide world last night with that set Ferry played. I was suprized how packed it got. It also go really really hot in Vanguard. I think the AC was having issues. It got so hot I even took a breather outside!!! That is a big deal since I never leave the area unless I need a bathroom break. It got pretty packed in the front to dance so I went dancing from the front to the side to on Stage most of the night.
After Ferry was done he went down to sign some autographs and take pictures. I waited until everyone left before getting mine and Christine's. Got to stay and chat for a little bit as well. That was super cool.
I am still in Aw on how crazy yet amazing this weekend was. I do not think I will stop smiling or talking about that one for a wile. Ferry set on Saturday was one of his BEST that I have seen. It is second to the one I saw At Space 2 years ago at WMC (that was the best most amazing night/set I heard so far) It is not even over. I get back on the plane tomorrow to see Markus @ Ruby Sky!!!:eyespop: :eyes: :eyespop: :eyes: :eyespop:

| Great review! I was at Virgin and Vanguard on Saturday. I agree that his Vanguard set was one of Ferry's best ever. |

sweetcandy girl, It was excellent meeting you. I think I have met you few times before, but dont remember... did you ever come to Ruby when Armin played? Im usually there for him and Tiesto, and Ferry when they come.
Rizo has the pic of you and I. cant wait to see what some of them look like as I took a bunch of this night whilst he slipped away for more drinks...

| Ferry is a constant reminder why I love trance. his set was so ing dope...don't remember "All I wanna do", but I got pretty hammered, so I'm sure right in the fray with a -eating grin. he's so ing good, can't wait for him to come back :crazy: |

| Ferry was totally amazing! I thought he couldn't top himself after seeing him at the Vanguard last time, but he really did. I was so anxious after seeing him in Vegas in the little Body English club @ the Hard Rock as there was so much anticipation. I'll be honest and I was hoping he would play "Possession" either night but he told me it would be coming up in the next few months as he's currently working on something :-) YAY! I saw you a few times at the Vanguard and we were only about 3 feet apart but I wasn't willing to move from the front of the stage and give up my space ;-) And, what was up with the lack of air? I never recall being that hot in there regardless of how crowded the Vanguard gets! It was nearly unmanageable at a point there. Ferry is so amazing and I can't wait to see him again. How he finished left me craving more. I'm already anxiously awaiting his return! Too bad I'll be missing hime at San Diego. |

| Great review. I only saw the SF set and it was pretty amazing. I went nuts when he played "Aven - All I Want (Ferry's remix)" as well. :crazy: :crazy: I laughed out loud when you guys were all talking about security trying to kick Ferry off the stage. Too bad I couldn't see his LA show though, especially after hearing you guys say how good it was. |

Vanguard was sooo much fun
That was my first 21 over event and i'll never forget it
