Sound card advice

Dear Everyone,
I need a little bit of help here.I decided to buy an external sound card noy may main problem is that I thought of if im gonna get external then I should get something that works with Protools or anything else like the MBOX 2 Family. But im on Budget
-I found The MBOX 2 education price , then I figured out its not the full version
-A friend of mine suggested the Echo audiofire 4
-Then I thought of maybe buying the Mbox mini

So as you can see my main problem is to go pro tools or not to be compatible or not, I never bought Sound cards before so I dont know exactly what would be nice.
Im not gonna use many inputs to buy a big sound card which means the mini can be enough but is it good value for money compared to other options?
thnx in advance,
Ahmed

I would say that is a wise choice.

You're not gonna afford Protools HD if you're on a budget. Go with the Echo Audiofire 4.

+1

Do you even use ProTools anyway? Pretty stupid IMO to buy a recording interface based on the "possibility" of using it - all protools cards suck balls for the price you pay.
