The mixing is really great up until after maybe the Prophecy (it's aight then)... I really liked the transition between License to Slink and When we dream though. The keys just go together so well. This ones a very different style to my other mixes (as apposed to mainstream psy, mainstream/IM, morning psy and Dark Psy mixes). This ones got a Astral projection and Electric universey (Protoculture fits in really well here) start and then goes into old school goa which is similar.
Defenitly my favourite mix I've made (for others goto www.last.fm/user/darkarbiter/journal or find their thread here at Tranceaddicts ) and I hope you guys like it too :)
Anyway point is... if your one of those people who really hate how Psy has the same bassline etc etc you'll like this mix. The Psy that's in it is very melodic (Electric universe and protoculture :happy2: ) and there isn't really that much of it anyway. As usual thanks to DJ Eccentric for inspiring me to DJ and keep on listening to Goa and PSY. |

Hey,
I really enjoyed this mix, particularly the old Electric Universe tracks, and of course the Hallucinogen track. It provides a nice flow from modern melodic full on to oldschool Goa trance. What software did you use? Eventually you should try to make beatmatched transitions, right now its most of the time just fading the outro of a track into the intro. Anyway, thanks for sharing, keep them coming! :) |

I mainly use Cool Edit Pro 2.1 ... I know it can do a lot more but I'm not entirely sure of how to use it properly. Anyway I've found that I've been "reading" the wavelink pictures it generates recently to try and work out where each beat starts... and then picking that to attempt to beatmatch stuff. I think I'm defenitly going to work on thinking about playing around with the track order more as well.
Usually when I mix I think wheres a fast track that goes here. I'm thinking perhaps it's better if I have 5 similar tracks in a row that I play them over a bit and work out the optimal order.
Anyway Cybernetika I don't see any threads on the production forums recently about your production. They are great! I like how they are long and yet not repetitive (the reason why I like psy in general) and theres some really emotional/dancey stuff... but I'm sure I could defenitly find some use for them in my mixes. Your one of the few amatuerr psy producers that actually makes something excellent (sorry guys). |
