hey everyone
i come in here hoping to find some cheer up words.....it's almost 4 pm in france....
to explain the situation , my dog is sick....i got "her" since im 11 and for a long time "she" is sick now....these past weeks her state deteriorated very quickly and the medicine nor the vet could be helpful anymore
she has spent the past days lying , hardly eating (and god knows if she used to love eating) and hardly moving at all
so finally my dad and I took a decision , we cant bring her to the vet because if we try to move her , she's screaming ,barking in pain
so ....my dad called the vet and he's going to come at home and euthanize her around 7 pm
this dog is basically my little baby i know it's the best solution because i cant stand her suffering but OMG ....im feeling like calling the vet back and telling that i dont want he comes ,
i dont want her to die:(
sorry if all this sounds cheesy and EMO im just so unhappy right now |

I'm so, so sorry to hear that, Marie. I've been in the same spot before, and it can definitely feel surreal.
At the very least though, the old cliche' is true, and you never do forget just how terrific they were, so try to keep your head up and just remember the good times.

| i'm sorry marie! i'm sure your dog will die peacefully and happy that he lived with such a great family. I see so many dogs that are just chained up in the yard, always barking and sad. |

oh man. i remember how traumatic it was when we had to put my 17-year old puppy down. just remember the good times, the bad times, and everything in between... If your baby was in pain, then you made the right decision. :(
My mom had the best comment for how to make that decision...
"I will never put down an animal who has life left in them, but I also will never keep an animal alive just to suffer.
only thing i can do in this e-world is... *bigassairhugfromme* :) |

Do you think she would've rather died any differently? She dies an easy death, surrounded by her family. What else is there to hope for?
I grew up with a dog. Then she died when I was 15 (and so was she). It was one of the hardest things I had to go through. But once you realize that it's inevitable, you look back on the years you had and you appreciate them more. Makes you value life even more. |

go get another dog. it will ease the pain since it will distract you. also you will try to inject a lot of the things you did with your old dog with your new dog. some will work and then remind you of the great times you had with the previous.
one of my really good friends had to put down one of his 2 dogs. i have known him since we were like 13. when i came over one day and she was gone it was very empty feeling. really wierd. not the same. so i feel you. its still odd now (about 4yrs later) going over there and not seeing her. |
