McCarren Pool was the eighth of 11 giant pools opened by the Works Progress Administration in 1936. This mammoth pool could once hold 6,800 swimmers and has been closed since 1984. In 2006, McCarren Pool Park was reborn as a prime outdoor concert venue. Last year’s series of Live Nation concerts and the Jelly NYC Sunday Pool Park Parties featured rock/indie bands, dodgeball and a slip-n-slide and were all a tremendous success and increasingly popular with the surrounding hipster and fun-loving crowds.
The venue is a great piece of NYC history and what a milestone for electronic dance music to host one of the world’s premiere DJs when Made Event presents ARMIN VAN BUUREN on Friday, July 13th. Get ready for lasers, live video and ARMIN outdoors with special guests Rank 1 Live, Susana and Jennifer Rene!
This year in addition to Made Event presents Armin van Buuren, the pool will host concerts by Erasure, The Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Disco Biscuits etc.

i don't think its gonna be packed at all. remember tob. warehouse last year? it was a small venue/small tent and there was plenty of room to dance/ & move around. This time the event in held in a huuuge pool. and i don't think there's enough excitement about this event either (imo).
"Rank 1 Live" <--- I cannot wait for this! i hope they play "superstring" when its really dark with full lasers in action.

actually there is a different point to this thread, subtle, but notheless different. Perhaps Plex should have consolidated all the BS in one thread. |

yea deff a waste of a thread
on the subject of this place
i dont see armin pulling in that many people like in those pics
cause #1
the pics of those parties are probly free parties or cheap to get into not a 40$ cover charge
#2 its a on a friday at 6pm
alot of people are either getting off work or will be on their way to this place from work
i remember the same thing happend last year at the tobacco warehouse
the sat gig was alot more packed
but on the real i hope iam wrong and i would love to see 5000 screamin fans and people just going nuts and a great vibe and armin plus the performers put on a good show |
