| As the name of the thread suggests, what genre of trance is supposedly most popular now? I've seen also a lot of cross genre trance. Just wondering. |

| Tech, Electro Trance, some epic (ASOT stuff), Prog Psy (Vibrasphere, Son Kite, Freq), and some deep prog trance. That's basically it. Epic isn't quite as popular as it was. |

Electro-trance / nu-trance seems to be the general direction this year.
There's also a consistent stream of tech-trance releases. |

| just remember. popular doesn't = good. The best forms of trance right now are progressive (Nicholas Bennison, Incolumis, orkidea, Gaudium, vibrasphere, chris micali, miika kuisma) Progpsy/Morningpsy/fullon psytrance eg human blue, protoculture, freq, steve birch, j00f, Jay Selway, Orion, Xerox & Illumination, Wizzy Noise etc |

In my region:
1) McProg,
2) Anjuna-styled trance,
3) and maybe tech-trance (I don't like to call it electro as it's surely not electro-related). |

Thanks for totally changing the topic. Although as usual I am inclined to agree. It's interesting to know that progpsy is populer now. |

is it? i never noticed lol the tech sound seems to got pretty big now though. but trance of any description isnt exactly that popular.
The most popular type is probably that cheesy euro dance stuff that everyone seems to call trance lol |

Various clubs in London, gods in bournemouth, gods in brum, techy for the most part, with some fluff here and there. |

| I thought tech-trance was dead. If Marco V and Marcel Woods ever was approved as tech-trance, now they're not. To me it just seems like a few of the top10 dj's dropping a tech tune now and then to fill the floor or whatever. There's no consistent producers in the genre anymore. |
