| Ugh, this sucks, I really wanted to go to this but I'm getting sworn in to my union on Monday and have to pay over $300 for an initiation fee. Even though it's free, I need to save every dime I can this weekend. I'm so pissed! |

Far from it and well worth it. What other union pays for you (and your spouse) to go to college wherever you want for whatever you want? |

good deal, but why would they pay for YOU to go to college? That seems a little contrary to their own interests. |

you're absolutely right, and it has hurt them once or twice. but a former president of the union (Harry van Arsdale) was HUGE on college and education so it has just stuck over the years. Besides, I'm sure there would be a huge out-cry if they tried to take it away. |
