First Time to Amsterdam, Information Needed

Hello this is my first post on the forums and i could do with some information regarding to a trip in amsterdan that i have planned for the 20th of july!
I am looking forward to this extraordinarry place and could do with some help on the nightlife over there! Including some parties, events, etc..
So what do you think the best daNCE Clubs/Bars are and how does the Door policy thing work there?
