- Madonna is the best grandmother out there, she kills it everytime, what a performer. Even dropping "mother fvckers" on a global live broadcast. haha
edit: I love that extended JLC "hung up" breakdown. GENIUS |
Yes I agree. I totally enjoyed her performance. She seems to never get old. Still in a pretty good shape and she 's like 51, just wow. Also the transition between the last 2 songs i.e la isla bonita -> Hung up was pretty smooth. Not sure if that was pre-recorded but still was sick.
RHCP were sickkkk. I love them funky rythems with crazyyyy bass lines just crawling on top. Although at the end he declared he was sick but I was pretty impressed with the whole performance.
Metallica was also a good excuse to refresh some memories. "Nothing else matters" never seems to get old. good songs never get old indeed.

P.S What's the time zone of rio de janeiro? I was just watching the consert live from rio and it's already dark! :wtf: |

Damien Rice and David Gray did a duet cover of "Que Sera, Que Sera" (w/ switched in enviro friendly lyrics lol), it was very well done. Hilary where were you on this one?

| Anyone else find it ironic that they discuss all of the used water bottles that we consume, and yet all the artist are drinking from water bottles. |

Or that its taking massive amounts of electricity to power all of the stage lights?
Or that Gore is promoting this, and he uses 11x the energy of an average person to power his home?
or that the florecent bulbs they are promoting are filled with mercury, an extremly hazardous material, being tossed into our eco systems?
or...
or...
or...
Sorry, I just find the entire event to be a farse, just like Live Aid was.
(or the biggest one of all, CO2 is not the most effective green house gas, water vapour is...) |

They address said irony multiple times throughout today's broadcast. Often times even in larger scope (the energy, fuel, waste that goes into touring, throwing these events etc etc) and how they are dealing with a MUCH bigger picture.

It has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with the 'wrong' issue being brought to people's attention.
I know I can be a downer sometimes, but its important that people get a more complete picture, than what our media gives us. |

Good, just as long as it hasn't been lost on them. I have been tuning in and out throughout the day. |
