TI Users - Vocoder help

unfortunatly there is no manual for how to use the vocoder or any online help. pretty annoying.
in ableton i sent the output of an audio track to 5/6 which runs to my virus' input 1/2. i drop in one of the virus' vocoder patches just to atleast get it in input mode.
now can the virus send the output back via usb or does it need to use cables back to my audio interface?
can't get any sound doing this... what am i doing wrong? |

Grab a copy of the Virus C manual from Access as a starter /reference point.
I had a similar problem when I upgraded from my C to TI, Access didn't see fit to put in a Midi implementation chart it the manual. All good and well when you are using the VC software, but what about when your are playing live? (Must send them another email about that one day...)
Ask the obvious, you are triggering the Virus with note in date arn't you?
If you still have troubles, feel free to pm me or post back, and I can try testing / configuring it tomorrow. I tend not to use vocoders, but if I can help out... |

yes, i am sending midi & audio to the virus... and rusty i also upgraded from a C but i gotta tell ya the TI isn't set up the same because on the C, i'd go in input mode, select the vocoder in my effects menu and call it a day.
i'll take a pic of how i have it set up in ableton so you can see. do you think the output will come back via usb or no? |

tbh, I've never even tried the Vocoder on the TI. A few times on the C, not my cup of tea; though I really should use it more for effects on drums etc

I would imagine so, but obviously depends on how you have the output configuration setup, and if you are using VC or not. |
