Hi all!!!
Friday night I opened up at Vanguard. It was an amazing night. A HUGE Thank you to all the TA's that showed up to support me. You know who you are.
Vanguard is an AMAZING VENUE with AMAZING People running it. BUT HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME VANGUARD HAS A EN LATE CROWD ON FRIDAYS? hahaha Man, I opened up from 10pm to 11:15 and wow... IT DRAGGED... People didn't show up til near 11pm, and even then, I couldn't get them dancing. They were just crowd around the bar. That felt really ty in my book. One of my philosophies is that if I can't get people dancing, I'm not doing my job. So I felt like ... I felt like I had to hold back a lot. I was told to only play hip hop & top 40. Then the next DJ played house and so did Scotty Boy. Ggggrrr
Anyhow, I was still happy because a lot of people showed up early to support me. That felt good. That actually meant a lot to me. Than Scotty Boy and Mike Basic showed up. Cool people. I was surprised to see Scotty tear that place apart with the crutches! hahaha He's an awesome DJ. I recorded his set, but he told me not to post it up. Sorry guys! hehehe
Overall, it was an amazing night. I got en drunk up my ass! It was all well worth it. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

Glad I was able to come by for a bit. You still played some cool tunes, even the HIP-HOP ones were cool. ;)

Yeah. Oh well, hopefully they will call me back. Well, I did play some house at the beginning, but it's not the same. I really wanna play EDM in that room. One day! One day!
Clovis... Playing in that system is pure orgasm!!! I was so happy. I kept telling all my friends to get on stage with me! hahaha they probably thought I was a weirdo but that was cool as . I don't think they understand how I felt, but it's all good. Than when the production manager came up to me and said HI WOODY, THIS IS YOUR ARTIST PASS, IT MEANS YOU HAVE ALL ACCESS I was like HOLY ! :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
Everyone was really friendly. The bargirl gave me a free WELCOMED drink. And she wouldn't even take my tip. Man, they even put a table on the stage for our drinks. We had a case full of red bulls, waters, and sodas. But no alcohol. :( That was given to us separate.
Than it felt good walking into the club, and they had Serato already set up for us. I was like HELL YEAH!!! All I had to do was hook up the USB cable to my laptop.
That system is LOUD. The monitors on the stage are sick! Many clubs would love to have those monitors as their main speaker system! hahaha
Than the KRYO, Confetti Cannons, Aerielists and Cabaret Dancers really added to the show. I dunno why they don't do that for Giant. I asked that to the Production Manager, and he said that all of the props and production on Fridays are done by the Friday promoter.
That Kryo is weird... They were shooting it from portable tanks! hahaha They looked like the Ghostbusters. The crew had these huge tanks that looked like extinguishers with them and they kept shooting them to the air. The crowd went nuts!
Overall, eventhough I didn't get to play EDM, I was still happy as .

| Woody, glad you had a good time and had a bunch of friends there to support you. I took a nap around 5:30pm on friday evening, and didn't wake up till 10am the NEXT morning. My body was asking for sleep. :( |
