alright, so this won't apply to everyone (sorry youngins :p), but ever since i was propositioned to get out my yearbooks to post a picture of my hot bowling coach in another thread, i've been sitting here getting all nostalgic while looking through my yearbooks from freshman and junior years of high school.
and wow, it's CRAZY how much stuff i haven't thought of in years that is just making me laugh my ass off right now. i mean finding and re-connecting with old school contacts on Facebook or myspace is neat, but it doesn't hold a candle to reading what your best friends (and enemies) wrote about you nearly 10 years ago. the good times, the bad times, the inside jokes, the drama, etc... sometimes i think of my old friends and i can't even picture their faces, but just reading through all the scribbles and diatribes that cover all the blank space in my yearbook TOTALLY takes me back, and it's a crazy feeling.
i dunno, i guess this is just especially cool and meaningful to me right now because lately i've been doing a lot of thinking about how i've changed over the last 7-10 years, and looking through my yearbook from freshmen year really puts it all into perspective for me. it's really hard to compare myself since i don't even talk to anyone i attended high school with. sometimes i get this weird uneasy feeling that makes me think that i haven't progressed or grown up as much as i should have, that i've somehow been wasting time or doing the wrong thing... but i couldn't be any more wrong. i'm still very much the same person i was back then, but i've managed to hold on to the good qualities while most of the bad and immature qualities faded away.
so do you guys still have your yearbooks from high school? do you look at them often? or are they just collecting dust on a bookshelf or a box in the basement? do you get any crazy wacky feelings after paging through old memories?
COR version: yearbooks are sweet. growing up is weird. and Advil PM might be making me loopy/emo. :gsmile: :gsmile: |

word. i just got a random myspace message last week from some dude and i denied him and he added me again, so i was like, "do i know u?"
and he was like, "yea it's me, bla bla bla you were my first kiss and we had the standard middle school 2 week relationship".
i was like oh snap.
hahah
i still don't remember him though, i felt horrible. i pretended i rememebered though.
myspace = creepy
oh and i think my year books are in storage. |

This thread inspired me to take out my graduating year (2003) yearbook. I teared up a little. Yearbooks are in' awesome to look back on.
I have all 4 years of high school yearbooks in my desk drawer. They're perfect for pulling out when talking about past years and someone mentions someone you don't remember, just pull our the yearbook and flip. It also reminds me of the people I dreaded seeing everyday ( the stupid white trash stoner's who hide in the woods during lunch) who most people didn't like. Ahhhh high school :D |

some classic "posts" in my yearbook -
"... well whatever has happen, Marilyn Manson, arguments, drugs, boys, friends, we are still friends. Only God knows why."
"P.P.S. Myra and commitment don't fit"
"All the guys you like are gay!!"
"I'll leave you with: You have so many relationships in this life, only one or two will last. Words of wisdom from Hanson. See ya later!"
:wtf: |

I don't look at my high school yearbook at all. It's been more than 4 years since graduation and yet I have no desire to glance it over.
I'm sure I would get a bit nostalgic if I flipped through it. But I won't. |

yea i'm kind of the same way. i only like looking at pictures/year books from when i was in japan (10th and 11th grade). other than that, i didn't enjoy middle school or high school in south florida. teenagers are the ing worst down here. i hated everyone, but ironically i was always popular. |

| The guy who was in charge of yearbook for my old high school died while our senior yearbooks were in mid-progress so we didn't get ours until almost a year after we graduated. So lame. |
