So... I'm broke.
which made me realize, hey I should probably get a job. I was thinking about applying at some stores at a nearby large strip mall.

Are you looking for something in particular (ie. something related to your skills...like plant/gardening stuff...or whatever) or just a random job that will give you $$$ to spend on...plants/gardening stuff/chicken thighs...or whatever? |

If I can give you any kind of advice, it would be 'Pick a job where you will deal with the LEAST amount of retards.' Generally speaking, that would be dealing with the least amount of people possible.
Believe me, it's easier said than done, but your working life will be that much more improved by it.
More seriously though, start looking at things that suit your interests, and as a last resort, get some random thing that will give you $$$. Unless you're rock bottom on cash/trying to pay the rent (you live with your folks?) it's worth taking the time.

What about your plant skills? Anything in your area that you could go for? A nursery or something? You seem to have quite a bit of knowledge there. |

I only know of one nursery around me... they don't seem to get a lot of customers, so I doubt they'll be looking for help. Might as well check it out I suppose.
There's a group of shops and fast food joints less than 15 min away... that would be the most convenient place to work |

While you might not see a whole lot of customers there, most nurseries do a good percentage of their business selling trees/plants/whatever to development ventures, and general landscaping businesses that already know what they want (ie. you won't see the dude browsing their stuff, they'll just place an order).
If you think you'd like it, then start there I reckon. |
