I really really don't beleive that you eat all natural.
I'm a vegan, but even I can't eat all natural, and I doubt that someone else who is my age can. |
If you go to "whole foods", you can find most all natural things there. Breads, meats, etc. You have to spend a lot of time looking at the ingredients lists.
We have our own vegetable garden as well. |

that's fine and well but since almost all sugars are a mixture of glucose and fructose it doesn't matter so much.. hell most fruits are high in fructose, does that mean it's unhealthy for you? |
you're right I guess it's just how processed foods are these days. It's really frustrating when you're trying to eat healthy but everything contains these bogus ingredients that aren't necessarily the best.
like when people promote those frozen lean cuisine! wtf that couldn't be worse for you than eating burger king.
I just figure we should have more healthy alternatives especially with the issue we have with obesity in the US and even 'natural' labeled foods are not as good as they appear. |

| I wrote up a bit on Fructose in the PDD here which has some interesting political connections as to why it (often labelled as 'HFCS') ends up in everything... |

I wouldnt fret about corn syrup too much, it seems ok.
Processing doesn't automatically make stuff bad...corn syrup seems like a pretty straight up substance.
Something you should concern more about is artificial sweeteners, and things like MSG.
We have all heard of MSG, and probably some controversy over it, I dunno what I think, I just know its too chemically and new for me to trust it. Also it gives me headaches.
Well its in like every single damn prepackaged thing out there. You wouldnt know it though, cuz they change the name. They can call it "autolyzed yeast extract" or some . They usually do this in vegan products especially, cuz they know vegans will probably be afraid of "MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE".
Its in soups, sauces, chips, snacks everything it really seems like everything that isnt sweet, and is prepackaged has it. |

exactly why I don't understand why they would advertise to diet with these things that could potentially be so much worse
and we're talking that a lot of over weight people resort to these things thinking it will do them good.
It really sickens me. |

If they are overweight it probably will do them good. It is lower in fat than burger king for sure.
As far as the preservatives go...I'm sure fat people would have been consuming plenty of those anyways.
Lean cuisine is a better meal than a lot of stuff people eat...its just that it still sucks! |

it's cheaper than cane sugar, transportable as a liquid, and doesn't suffer the same taxation as cane sugar. that's basically why it's used over beet/cane sugar all the time now. | interesting. |
