I'll refer will to this reply :p
When Spyder came over, we spent ages trying to get her to say it and she was denying for a ges that she said it, then it slipped out later on if I remember and we all giggled with her. The only things I do with my sis-in-law is call her a hoser, say Eh all the time to her, or ask her if seal clubbing is canadian slang for masturbation. The accent is kinda cool once I get used to hearing it. I'm not the quickest person at picking up accents/sounds well. It was good fun last night though to surprise people. Infact it was kinda weird to actually be heard, and wonder what people made of it, like did the tone or accent sound as expected & so forth :p

Lol Ian,
isn't 'hoose' some Scottish slang for house?
In fact, i think it's more West-Scotland where I come from.
'Hoot!?' is also slang for 'What!?". Very strange slang over that part of the country.

Everyone has an accent, so I've been told. I mean I don't think I have one at all anymore. I used to have such a heavy French accent when I spoke English:nervous: :(

Hahahahaha Angel,
that's brilliant. I haven't seen that advert in years.

Indeed.
If you speak a language, you must've learned from a group of speakers (usually the community in which you grew up)... and, more radically, you've got your very own way of speaking (from now on, I'm calling your "way of speaking" by its formal name, idiolect).
Because your idiolect is based on the language you learned (you can, after all, develop your very own language and expect everyone else to fully understand it), you must "pick" some features that seem necessary: for example, you probably think the pronunciation of "saw" must be different from the pronuntiation of "sore", but "caught" and "cot" sound the same. Someone from Australia, however, might think the exact opposite.
These differences give rise to what we perceive to be accents. Certainly you think you're "accentless" because everyone else around you speaks the way you do. However, as soon as you meet someone from a distant region (or when you need to learn another language), your accent becomes more obvious :)
