No , really. Did you need a crack team of scientists to figure that one out. Nobody was insulting Edgar, so get over it. It's just a FACT that Edgar has been playing house lately. He opened for PVD @ WMC and again recently, and played house both times. Headlined Space's mainroom recently, and played house. Headlined at Studio A recently, and played house. Whenever he plays with Acosta (besides the Shadow reunion), every time he plays house. That is a fact, just ask him. People here on TA have discussed it many times. We are not talking about 10 years ago or before the birth of Jesus Christ, we are talking about recently. And more power to Edgar, he can play rock-and-roll for all that I care. But when he brings trance like he did this Saturday, it is worth taking note and enjoying it - because it does not happen often anymore. If you do not see that you are blinder than Stevie Wonder. |

I think AV1 ID'ed what he could, that is very partial for what I heard that night, there are tons of stuff I couldnt ID, I think GA brought it pretty nasty nothing soft. Anthem as a tune is sick till the vocals comes on. But at the speed he was playing once those vocals leaves its was on again.
And Edgar opening was house, but it I thought it was pretty thick at most

You could tell it would be crazy when you see GA asking for another drink right after his first track, Edgar isnt that far behind he was really hyper. I think these 2 together bring a crazy bond to tear it up proper. I think no review will do justice from what I saw. And no you can compare GA SL Reunions sets to these, even though those classic nights are gold, these are just on a other level, and fall into place different.

No doubt there were many many more tracks I could not ID than the ones I could, even if I tried. And the ones you cannot ID are always the best ones. ID'ing tracks is not my department at all, but those IDs were very common tracks that I could not help but recognize - especially the classics. Hell IDing tracks is your department isn't it :stongue:
Either way it was a great night, and hopefully LP will keep mixing it up a little. I am sure he has something up his sleeve to compete with Mansion and their summer bookings. |

colombian soul, ive had that track on my myspace for awhile now, ill, ill, ill...anyways its been awhile since i heard i a proper trance set myself, and space's mainroom seems to carry the sound very well for trance, i just dont like the crowd so much for the shows a little young and inexperienced for my taste, but after a few vodka rocks i might get over it, let me know when you decide to go rzo, at least i know i will be in skilled company;) :D |

Kid, chillout... I've seen EdgarV play house when he opens up for DJ's as long as I can remember.. you seem to be referring to last two times you saw him, I'm referring to the last 4 yrs of me catching Edgar playing house at some point. The formats were different, perhaps trancier, even techy at times.. but that's how is been, that's why Paul van Dyk likes him to open up, because he knows how to be a warm-up DJ. PvD on he's 6 hr sets I assure you some house in the beggining. Dude, I'm not disputing with you weather he plays trance anymore or not. EdgarV played an exclusive breaks set I believe last year in Revolution, and weeks ago a House set in Studio A, and months ago a Classics set at the Shadow Lounge reunion.. Classics set meaning both some old school house in the early part of the evening and the trance in the later time. I was referring to your " Rumour" comment as if it was something new. I arrived @ Space at 1:45 am. and until I left it was straight up trance, non-stop, everything from melodic and epic, to hard and techy. Edgar and Acosta proved that you do not need some big name out-of-town DJ, or house music, to be able to rock Space on a Saturday.
As for the crowd, it was a good crowd and packed. Not Tiesto style sardine fest, but a full mainroom from side-to-side until about 5:30 when it started to thin out. As for the vibe, a solid A+. Both Edgar and George brought great energy and had the crowd eating it up. I have not seen Edgar that animated in a while, hands in the air constantly. And we all know about Acosta's antics.
The music was A+. Acosta dropped an amazing dark big room set. He still knows how to build up and blow up a room with a full-on trance set as well as anyone. He dropped bomb after bomb, both new stuff and classics. Sometime around 4:15 or 4:30 Edgar and GA started tag teaming and that is where all hell broke loose. Rumor had it Edgar was not playing trance anymore, well do not believe everything you hear. When they were tag teaming it was all trance, 100%.
I am not much for track IDs. And no list can capture the greatness of this night. I am sure someone will give a more accurate and complete list. But here is what I recall.

only the same poeple say the same crap everytime, that tracklist is old and used before. Edgar is one of those djs who loose thier skill and still think they have it cuz of their ego, like armin and what not. Edgars' skill back then was atmoshpheric with flawless unique transitioning ranging from house to progressive trance. We all remember the edgar we use to love. There are so many artists out there that are in the same boat, look at tiesto. He was a god on the decks and look at him now. Everyone bashes him to the grave. I'm tired of the same poeple who go to space like spacemasters, Av1 and hype them up for promotional reason or whatever it is. Its wack and this due paying is also nonsense, if you loose your skill and don't know what happen to it, thats your problem. |

I do not even know Edgar personally and have no reason to hype him up or bring him down, I do not work for or care about Space one bit. No promotion here. I call it like I see it, period. Unlike you who probably stayed home playing with Barbies on Saturday, yet now you come on here rendering a baseless hating opinion when you were not even there.
Yet if you are gonna come on here and make those bold ass statements about Edgar, at least have the balls to identify yourself so Edgar can respond to your dumb ass.
Otherwise stick to subjects you have some personal knowkledge of, such as going through your life with a single digit IQ. |
