| to a large extent yeah, except like when I was phoning people up last night, I tried not to bring out too much of the local slang. But I do say Ey up Mate, and Ow do a lot. Areet is another one I use online lots and definitely in person too. Also when i use a very rare form of talk form a village my grandad was born in, water isn't war-ter, its Watta in sound, etc. Just depends really, like my brother who I speak to most knows all the same stuff so we can talk without thinking if what we're saying would be understood or not. |

I think a bitch with a British accent sounds hot, the guys sound like douchebags, especially the so called "British rap artists". |

you aren't the only one! Most of us struggle with social expression but can formulate clear and concise thoughts...just expressing them isn't as easy based on a whole bunch of things.
I admit I struggle with it, I struggle with the bleeding of social environments. I said 'crib' to my coworker once and he said made fun of me...then again it's part of my vernacular and a root in which I grew up. So on top of that, speaking in a professional sense or in a relaxed at home chillin with the boys sense, its just as bad to express myself correctly, i struggle with it but i like to think i'm capable of maintaining myself in most situations. :) |
yeah, i've noticed there are several different styles of type/talk.
easier to get a concise lucid thought online because you can see the ramblin' begin and stop before you hit enter! |

yea i struggled with hardcore social anxiety for many years when i was growing up... would never speak up in class so i was always known as the shy weird girl and i always had problems conversing in large groups of people. one-on-one i could handle just fine, but for some reason i never felt right addressing or communicating with more than one person at a time. everytime i tried i'd just blush or my heart would start beating real fast and i'd get really anxious and self-concious, and it was so obvious so i always tried to avoid situations like that.
i still get it sometimes, but a lot of things have helped me overcome it. honestly, after the first time i rolled when i was 18 i lost a HUGE amount of my shyness and i was a lot more social and outgoing, even after only doing it one time (drugs are bad, right?)... but also just being forced to overcome it by growing up and becoming more independent and being put in situations where i have to speak up for myself has helped a great deal as well.
such is life. :) |
