I'm after low one - ideally 12"/ 30cm. I've not been able to find, the smallest is 24" which is too high. I want to use stands as that means I can usually use the space under them as have not got th emost amount of room to work on.
Be ideal if they were for sale online or at a large UK store.

That is a good question. There really aren't much them available at all!. I had this same problem and i solved it using wooden boxes. I have seen this question asked before few times and the best solutions seem to be DIY. You have to use bricks or something like that. :( :whip:
It is really strange that the need for tabletop monitor stands seems to be so often ignored by speaker stand manufacturers?! |

you can make your own stands that are as good as $200 pro audio ones for about $35 or less. Don't buy them... it takes like 2 seconds to make them!
Work out how high you need your monitors (such that your ears are level or just below the tweeters) and buy two 100mm PVC downpipes of that length. Then buy two downpipe end caps. Buy 2 pieces of wood cut to the dimensions of your monitors base and another two about 2-4 times the size (this will be the base). Then screw the end caps onto the pieces of wood, and connect them together using the pipe! Paint the whole thing (black, DUH), fill the pipe with sand and there you go, pro quality stands. :)

Just cut the PVC pipe shorter! This is what I have done, they work great and I can have my speakers EXACTLY at the right height. :D |

Yeah, that's how I made mine, except without the PVC pipe, since I don't want a hollow vessel directly below my monitors. |

Thats why you fill them with sand... :p
It would actually do a better job of absorbing resonance than wood too. |
