| Yes, indeed. If I recall correctly, there is a section/advertisement for this contest within their magazine, "Ministry." I'm at work now so I don't have a copy with me, but I will check it out and list some more details once I get home. |

Sorry for the wait - I found the ad. It's on page 23 of the April 2002 Ministry issue. Here is the text:
MIX YOUR WAY INTO THE RECORD SHOPS!
*Win the chance to have your own mix album on sale in record stores across the UK*
Making the leap from bedroom apprentice to top DJ is no small task - what you need, more than anything, is a big break. Which is why we at Ministry will be stamping the passport of one aspiring jock and welcoming him (or her) aboard the shuttle bound for Planet Superstar DJ (not literally, you understand).
Ministry has teamed up with compilations label Decadance in the biggest DJ talent search ever. Over the next two months, we will be listening to all your mixes, as we search for the next superstar jock.
The lucky (and obviously rather talented) DJ will then get the chance to mix one of the three CDs on the Decadance Ibiza album. The album will be whisked out to record stores all over the country, with your name on it and, more exciting still, you'll get your picture in Ministry. Yow!
Send CDs or MiniDiscs ONLY into: Decadance Competition, Ministry Magazine, 103 Gaunt Street, London SE1 6DP by April 15th 2002.
*A Word From the Judges*
Previous releases from the Decadance stable include Hip Hop 24/7 and Rave Anthems, but what exactly are the judges looking for? Decadance label manager Duncan Collins: "We're looking for a good technical DJ who can give us a seamless mix of upfront club music. As the winner will be mixing our Ibiza collection, house and trance tapes are ideal to showcase their talent. Be creative, though - we've all got a sense of humour!"

YIKES! I guess it's too late. I do hope this is the contest that you were referring to. I don't have a URL, sorry.
Perhaps you could still send one out if you do it soon enough. Who knows, maybe they're not that stringent on deadlines. :D |
