Mine are the obvious ones (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk). Favorite modern day jazz bands/musicians are Medeski Martin & Wood, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, and Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.
If you haven't listened much to jazz before give it a try, its great music to relax to and also good to get your girl in the mood;)
