musical memory is a good thing to have as a dj
with ableton i could make a liveset deaf and without having heard any tracks, just looking at artist names and waveforms. i should try it sometime lol |

| The couple of times I've used CDJ-1000s I've never bothered with them. It's probably because I knew my tracks inside and out when I. I guess if I actually owned 1000s I'd use them when getting to know my tracks, but after that it's pretty useless, in my opinion. |

That's the problem though, if you owned a pair of 1000's, you probably would never know your tracks as well as you do now due to the waveform. Unless I play a tune to death now, I'll never know it as well as I did my vinyls.
It's the same with the pitch increment % on the display, I'm always watching that when I make adjustments making sure that I only go up 0.05% at a time. When I used to DJ with vinyl, I used to just get on with it.
As technology gets better, we become more lazy (well, I do anyway). I'm just glad that I learnt how to DJ properly way before CDJ's as I believe I have learnt a lot more that way. |

So what? You need to see that pitch increment change, because it's digital, so until it's changed on the display you might as well not have moved the slider. On analogue vinyl decks this is not an issue becuase no matter how little you move the slider you're still adjusting the pitch. |
