I'm sick of everyone always trying to classify trance! Just call it trance! Or even better do what Van Dyk does. Electronic Dance music.

Melodic doesn't always mean what it sounds like it means, sometimes songs that are called 'meldodic' are called that because they don't have anything BUT a melody and very calm drums. But you can have an uplifting melodic song. Like, I think Gouryella - Tenshi fits into the uplifting category, certainly...yet it happens to be very melodic. A non-melodic 'uplifting' song might be Lost tribe - gamemaster. Not to say that it doesn't have really cool and inventive chord progressions and such, it's just not a very melody oriented thing. Uplifting/nonmelodic another example=Ayumi hamasaki - Trauma (Dumonde mix) and uplifting/melodic other example=Barthezz - on the move (dumonde mix) has one of the coolest most memorable tunes I can think of...but be sure to get that remix of it or it's not uplifting enough!!! Maybe will think of others later...

I like that better, then i dont have to hear people (not on the msg board) bicker and fight over what the definition of techno is, and what trance is. sheesh  |

Listen to like 2 seconds of a melody in a song. If you love just those two seconds, it's melodic.

ya melodic os a track with a "CATCHY" beat or sound to it...the term MELODIC is in all forms of music...not jus trance...its basically a catchy sound
