I'm an unregulated RPN. So I'm not ACTUALLY a nurse, but I do the job/have all the responsibilites of one. I work in a retirement home, which is different than a nursing home/long term care/hospital/pretty much every kid of care, which is why I'm allowed to work unregulated. Unregulated just means I'm not licensed as a nurse. Retirement homes are not governed by the same organization that governs over hospitals and long term care facilities, etc.
Anyway, that's where I work...I'm allowed to do it because I DO have my first year of nursing under my belt, and my pharmacology course. It's the easiest money I've ever made, lol. I love my job. :) |

i manage nurses in homecare and i hate it.
hahaha i hate half of my nurses too.
i'm getting out of the healthcare industry.
too much going on i dont like hearing about.

haha. yea i understand.
while i was in school i worked at a boat supply store and made it to manager.
i took that experience, and a degree in business management when i graduated last year, and jumped here.
i dont expect to stay in this field though.
there is money here, but not worth the work for me.
i'll take a drop in income for some peace of mind.
you say you love your job though, nursing home. |

Heh yeah I really do. It's not just the job, it's everything. I love being a nurse, period. :D
BTW, I can see why you probably don't like it...I would imagine it'd be a lot different if you actually had a background in health care/medicine. It certainly helps in understanding all aspects of the roles and responsibilities of the members of the health care team.
It's like the administrator where I work...she's just a business lady. She has hardly any idea of what it is we're (the nurses) supposed to be doing, and the standards we're supposed to be working to. So in that respect, she's pretty useless, lol. |

sounds like me.
i dont know allot of you do haha.
but i learn quickly and wiki is my friend.
when there is a diagnoses i havent heard of or a medication i dont know i find out real quick.
learn something everyday for sure. |

Haha, well that's good then! I wasn't implying that YOU were useless btw! I actually should have said, "ineffective". But yeah, that's just MY boss.
