I CANNOT believe they are ACTUALLY making this.

The site has posters from the upcoming sequel. Of course, Jim Carrey will not be playing the title role, so they make this movie about Ace Ventura's son.
Ummm, didn't they do that already with The Mask?

I agree. I wasn't really impressed with #2 because they kept trying to rehash #1's jokes. There were some funny scenes though, but the jokes were already getting old. I wonder if they're going to try to make his son like him... rehashing his jokes. |

Somehow this happened:
Josh Flitter, best-known as the "little Ewok boy" from Nancy Drew, has been cast as Ace Ventura's son in the upcoming third installment in the Ace Ventura series (oh God, it's going to be called the Ace Ventura Trilogy). Jim Carrey is unlikely to appear in this sequel, just as he wisely remained far away from Son of the Mask and Dumb and Dumberer. The third film will revolve around Ace's son taking over the family business.
Director David Mickey Evans (The Sandlot) told ContactMusic.com that he let his kids pick this movie for him. "My kids run my career. After the Final Season got picked up for theatrical release, I had a bunch of offers and scripts on my desk. I asked my nine, 11, and 15 year olds what they wanted me to do. "They said, 'Dad, you're doing Ace Ventura 3!.'"
Hey, there Mr. Evans, don't go trying to pass off blame on your kids. Children need boundaries. You need to tell them to do their homework, eat their vegetables, and most importantly, NOT get you mixed up in an Ace Ventura sequel. For crying out loud, don't ruin your career because they said to. They're the ones who will need the money for college afterall.
