Came in around 12:45. Markus was already on. At that point the Trance he was playing was okay - it wasn't as energetic as I would have liked it to be. Went outside to blaze after an hour, and when we came back in at 2, Markus switched to a more energetic, bassline-heavy style that I enjoyed very much. If the whole night was like how he was playing then, it would have been perfect. Didn't like the way he ended the set at all. He was playing hard tunes, then went into Without You Near?? Seriously, Markus, it's time to retire that ing song. Every single time I see him, he drops that song. Not to mention it has been played out by other DJs to death. There are only so many times I can sing "How can you sit there watching" in clubs. And the last song he played sucked too. Overall, I would give it 7/10. I've heard much better from Markus.
Some more random notes:
- What is it with the excessive DJ whoring recently? Every Trance event I go to now, there will always be a bunch of people chanting the DJ's name throughout the whole breakdown in a song. Even if the song sucks. MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ! MAR-KUS SCHULZ!
- And on that note, some of the breakdowns and builds yesterday were just waaaaayyyy too long and boring to be enjoyable. Just drop the bass already, and let's keep the party going. My fingers are starting to lose circulation.
- Dragonfly is a nice club, but I didn't find it as beautiful as others have described it. That ceiling is not too impressive either. But it certainly has a nice feel to it (especially the washrooms, although the warm water in taps sucks)
- Sound was nice and crisp, but I don't like how if I stand too close to the DJ booth (and that's not very close either), I end up under those speakers, and the bass becomes muffled and distorted.
- Having to work in the morning SUCKS.
P.S. Nice running into beefy k / EvilTree / Ampz/ ItalianPoison |

Cosmic..u're totally right about everything u said...
I find that he didn't have a flow to his set at all!!!! The club just isn't what it used to be either...I remember thinking that it was one of the best places I've ever gone to...but was the sound always like that? I find it waaayyy to loud in there (and the bass pretty much takes over all that). I come out with a headache every time...
And holly fck at the guys hanging off the booth...They didn't leave that spot the whole time...they were jumping so high and throwing themselves around like fkn 13 yr old idiots!!2 guys fell on a girl...she was tiny and they were like over 6 feet tall...Just morons!
I really tried to get into it..and everyone knows i love to dance...but his set was all over the place...I agree on the breakdowns too....looong...boring...I was leaning against the wall moving my head side to side lol...
And to think I used to loooove trance... |

Overall, a good night I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Solid crowd, good vibe, hard tunes.
I think it was the second last song that the dj before Markus spun, amazing track live! I think its one of the songs from the Dubfire GU - Taipei cd. |

I need to wear my TA shirt more often. I knew like 8 TA's there that was it. Lol.
Overall his first 45 were stellar. Just massive groovy tracks. He lulled for a bit but picked up up again. Ill have the interview I did with him edited and on my site in a few days hopefully.

I haven't seen the crowd that hyped in Dragonfly before, and I love Markus' crowd interaction, shaking hands, dancing, and one thing I noticed was no Jesus poses lol.
The first song he dropped was amazing, towards the end it got really soft like Without you near, and the encore song.
The crowd went nuts when King of my castle was played, I have still yet to hear the vocal version of it in the club :(. But yeah all those Markus Schulz chants was getting a little annoying. |
