ABUJA, Nigeria - Nigerian schoolchildren who received laptops from a U.S. aid organization have used them to explore pornographic sites on the Internet, the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Thursday.
NAN said its reporter had seen pornographic images stored on several of the children’s laptops.
“Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials,” NAN said.
A representative of the One Laptop Per Child aid group was quoted as saying that the computers, part of a pilot scheme, would now be fitted with filters.

the "good" side to the story is that the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) is starting to get some publicity. They say they can make laptops at the expense of 100 USD. the hardware specs isn't that great, compared to the current laptop market at the moment, but the whole design of the how the laptop is built is pretty unique, and may revolutionize how laptops are built ........ well maybe not. :wtf: |

meh as long as some africans or whatever who normally wouldnt have them or whatever are getting access to laptops.
is this an american company? is it government funded or what? whatever the case thats still a better use of money than half of the other they do.
this way starving african people can get the word out that they want those ing missionaries out. its not nice to exploit people like that. |
