went last night, was very surprised to find the line was around the block at 9:15, but i was in within 20 minutes so i can't complain, walked in to find the typical tiesto in concert dj booth with a huge screen type thing in the background...
i was expecting the blue man group to open, but instead i found Jes opening with her usual tracks like as the rush comes and a bunch of new (ty) tracks from her new album... at 10:30 she was done and the place just went dark, then some anime tiesto + dj booth comes up and music starts playing, a pretty decent track selection actually, very housy with tracks like swimming places, magenta, carry me away...
at 10:55 the music stops and the intro begins, i had seen it it before through youtube so i knew what was coming, but seeing it live was def. an awesome thing, the pyrotechnics were awesome and i've been waiting years to see an actual tiesto in concert! best way to start IMO, all my friends were going nutz
started off pretty slow after the first track and it took him about an hour and a half to get things going, playing decent tracks but nothing huge. i thought he was gonna go through all the "elements of life" given the title of his album and concert, but after water and fire, that was it. As soon as the fire theme started, flames shot up from the stage, actual flames! thought the fire dept. would be there within seconds, lol.
my friends were getting a little mad cause he wasn't playing anything huge in the first 2 hours but right after they said that he played the usual: Loves comes again, traffic, lethal industry, in the dark, adagio for strings, forever today. When he dropped he's a pirate he had the pyrotechnics going left and right, timed perfectly with the track so that was a really nice touch, all that made it a really cool night! He even played Silence!!! which was unexpected so early in the night and to be honest, it was not the right moment AT ALL, it was so much more special hearing it at crobar in december after the killer set he played! The blue man group came on while i was downstairs and i only caught the last 5 minutes which sux because they are always cool to see!
the next hour and a half he played a very techy oriented set that threw off alot of people, the "Concert" part was pretty over i guess cause people started leaving at around 2, i don't really know why cause there was alot of energy even though he was just kinda sitting there alot of the time. At around 3, he just turned up the heat and it was killer track after killer track!!! pure energy like tiesto used to deliver! at 3:30 he stops the music and gets on the mic to thank new york, and says he was only supposed to play til 3 but he made a "deal". my ass he made a deal, he was scheduled to play til for, lol. so to close out his speech he goes: " ok, im gonna play for a half hour more, so i wanna see this place going f*ckin nutz!" which is understandable cause the place was dying QUICKLY!
anyway, the last half hour was even better cause he turned up the volume and was playing some real energetic melodic tracks that made everybody move once again. after he closed it out, he played Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto Remix) as his encore which was a great track to close with except that he only played half of it and some dude just creeped up behind the booth and turned it off
overall i had a great time, the production was phenomenal and tiesto played a pretty good set! :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:

| The first 3 hours from 11-2 SUCKED HARDCORE. He couldnt mix for , would go from a hard driving bassline and mix into a more mellow track. The set had no direction or flow at all. Not to mention while playing Smack My Bitch Up (Richard Durand Remix) he hit the Play/Pause button on the wrong CDJ and paused the song but quickly hit play again be4 any guidos could realize what happened. He also cued up a song later in the night with the volume on that channel on. How long has he been a DJ? Shouldnt he know how his equipment works? The last two hours from 2-4 we decent since he started to actually play trance and magically remembered how to decently mix maybe 60% of the time. Also because i didnt get there early i ended up on the 2nd floor balcony which sucked. This was my first time seeing him and it will for sure be my last. I only went because my friends wanted to and because i figured he couldnt really be as bad as every one says he is, but no he was. |

| venue and crowd looks sick. But I still wouldn't waste my money on TIESTO. His productions are pretty in snoring, he's completely sold out. |

Is it only me or there are really very few posts about Tiesto?!?
The photos are CRAZY, but I am still glad choosing Jason Jollins over Tiesto last night! |

I'll see if I can create one. I also have some videos.
I too was stuck upstairs until I managed to find my way down with help from a friend.
That show was ridiculous on the ground floor. Haven't seen any other shows like this. Really good set. When he played tech, he stayed there. None of this up and down . It was pure energy :eyespop: |
