Anyone else out there plan on going? I've gone a couple years and late night they have a conference room playing trance. Funny as hell to look around the room and see ppl w/ light sabers dancing around. Entertainment extraordinaire! It's over the Labor Day weekend.

ah... a huge congregation of nerds. does not appeal to me. have fun though.
do they play good trance? or castles in the sky or something?

lol...it is a total nerd-fest:) if you like ppl watching, nothing like it.
as far as the music...not sure who's spinning. was a notch above castles before; actually enjoyed it (having a number of vodka/red bulls might have altered my perception of things:). some tracks in there that i like to play.
overall, it's really just the entertainment experience. looking for a tiesto...not gonna happen, lol. want to walk into a different dimension and cut-loose, then dragoncon is the place

ah, drunk anything sounds good. i would totally rock out to dj sammy - heaven if i had 10 or 12 drinks in me :D

i think going to dragoncon is sorta like trance. u either get it or don't. totally about interests and ability to enjoy different things, very-very different, lol

I had a friend in town at AWA Con and went to the little dance party and I swear it was a prerecorded mix. But yes, nothing beats seeing people dressed up as freak anime characters with glowsticks

I play Magic: The Gathering. And watch Anime.
So yeah, I'm interested in going, either for the nerdiness early or the Trance later :)

I use to play MtG and still watch anime from time to time. Started out with Revised (3rd edition) and played until Ice Age. Sold the black lotus I won in a tournament for $500.
I've been to a DragonCon. It's a trip. I highly recommend it for people watching. Bring a nose plug though. There is a familiar nerd stench in the hotels. :conf:

Yeah, they should have soap dispensers at these things! Can it hurt to take 5 minutes out of your busy 36-hour gaming marathon to take a shower and put some deodorant on?

dragoncon is a bit more sophisticated. if i could figure out how to paste a picture here, i'd show u some of the amazing costumes ppl put together.
