So. Much. Fun.

I've seen Sleepy & Boo once or twice before and they were fine, but last night they were fantastic. Really, really great. And once Jason came on they stayed in the booth and were egging the crowd on and just generally being his own personal cheerleaders. Very sweet.

Jason went on at about 1:30. Started off with good energy, but by 3:30 was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Non stop, relentless, fantastic. Stayed until about 5:30 I think? and the room had not calmed down, people were really loving it. I cannot express how glad I am that I finally saw him headline. This needs to happen again. and again. and again.

I suck at track ID's, heard a few songs that I know and love, but Chopperchunk is the only one I can ID.

Random side notes on the environment:

Got there at about 12:30 and the line was ridiculous. Pretty sure a lot of them were the regular Pacha crowd, cause spiky hair gold chain fake tan boys abounded. The guestlist was still free (thanks Jason!) even though it was after midnight.

They've hired a new security guy (my first time seeing him anyway) who was lording over the smoking area last night. The man is immense. Not just tall, but huge huge huge, his hands were twice the size of any i've seen. Honestly looks like Andre the Giant, you know how his voice was even different because of his insane size? Like that. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Nice meeting Martinezequiel, and Montie, well, he's just slightly more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

thats Giant Silva, the world's worst mixed martial arts fighter. he trains jiu jitsu with one of the Gracies in NYC or Newark, NJ. I think he lost every fight he ever had, so I guess he's trying his hand at a new line of work lol.

I posted my minireview in the other thread. AMAZING NIGHT! Jason rules!

Was it free after 12?! I got in b4, but my friend paid $25 because he was 5 mins late.

p.s. I remember seing a HUGE bodygard at Spirit several years ago. It might be the same guy- shaved head, very tall and with a killer-face :P

Hmm, maybe I got someone different at the check-in table, i was there well after 12 and it was free. Was your friend on Jollins list or a different one?

Thanks for the nice words!!

That was so much fun...playing in the main room at Pacha is always a great experience, but the crowd was really reacting last night. Jason knows how to work a room and he handled everything flawlessly...I definitely was enjoying his music and cheering him on :) Woohoo, here's to Jason!

And yes...we totally saw the security guard when we got there. He was immense. He walked by the DJ booth and his head almost stuck over the railing...wow!

I've had that happen before. The last time I was on Jason's list for Pacha we got there after the cutoff time and it was still reduced/comped (I forget which one.) We got on the line outside just before midnight, but by the time we got in it was probably 12:30 - 12:45. (What with the drunk girl throwing up on the line and the 14 year old kid with the fake id, ahhhh Pacha.) Maybe they took into consideration the fact that many people may have gotten there on time but had to wait for a while on the line. Gjorgji, that sucks though that your friend had to pay. You'd think they wouldn't be so strict for getting in just a few minutes late.

I just looked him up and it says he's 7'2" and 385lbs. Jesus. Another pic:

It's unusual to see openers stick around the booth to support, and so energetically! Nice.

I don't know what to say except that you guys are truly amazing.

I must admit that I was a little worried with Tiesto having a sold out show on Thursday and a sold out show (4500 people) on the same night I was playing at Pacha :)

But despite the Tiesto event, I was pleasantly shocked when my friend called me at 11:30 to tell me there was a line almost to the end of the block.

Thank you so much to everyone who came last night and to those who stayed til the end. I know that some of you wanted to be there but couldn't and a thanks goes out to you as well, you were there in spirit :)

I had such an amazing time last night, I was basically in tears at the end (happy tears of course).

The support that you guys have given over the years and the support you gave me last night was incredible.

I caught the last 40 minutes of Sleepy and Boo's set and they were playing great tracks and had a really nice vibe going. They also helped so much with this night in many aspects so I owe them a big thank you as well. They are great people and make a great dj duo.

I unfortunately couldn't be in the basement to hear the other dj's but I'm sure that they rocked it.

Below are some videos that my friend posted up onto Youtube.

Thanks again, I love you all :gsmile:
