those are A list hollywood celebs that you are referring to who have starred in several blockbuster movies ..just like the crowd who dont listen to EDM wouldnt recognize tiesto, a lot of people wouldnt recognize the guys from say entourage if they dont have HBO ...
and there are several celebrities who are huge in other countries but not so big in the other ... people like John Terry (captain of the english soccer team) would be mobbed if they walked down the streets of london but wouldnt even need security walking down rodeo drive .. likewise i dont think most of the UK or any other country outside the US would recognize Peyton Manning. |

here's the different IMO....a club DJ is only a celeb inside that club (literally outside). i've run into Sharam, Sasha, David Guetta, Steve Lawler and Roger Sanchez in Miami walking by themselves down the street with no one bothering them.
all of the people you mentioned would be recognized on the street by many more people....i think you validated my point. obviously Tiesto is a celeb within the dance music scene, but that is miniscule compared to the tens of millions who know John Terry or Peyton Manning |

| Hmm My list is huge as I work for a high end audio video company in LA. I meet with celebs on a near daily basis. Lets think in the last little bit i've met Simon Cowell and his gf Terri and her mom, Oprah Winfrey, Prince and Princess of Saudi Arabia, Martin Lawrence, and a whole bunch more. |

Here's a local celebrity who many of you don't know, but yet, he pulls thousands of people.
EL PIOLIN
He has the #1 rated morning show in the country. This guy is so powerful, he has congress listening to his radio show. He gathered 1 Million letters in favor of an immigration reform.
When Mexico was playing in the Copa America earlier this month, he made a joke saying that Mexico got kicked out of the cup because most players tested positive for steroids. And what happened? Within minutes after he "broke the news" stations all over the world picked it up and reported the fake news. It was supposed to be a joke that was supposed to last only for that brodcast. He apologyzed at the end of the broadcast. Now, tell me that's not having power. Tell me he's not a celebrity.
Just because someone might not be that well know or a celebrity in your own terms, doesn't mean he/she is not a celebrity to others.
