All I can say is wow. This cruise is always getting better and better every year!!! Even though Bad Boy Bill flaked out and never showed up for his gigs aboard the Groove Cruise this year everyonse still had a blast. The funny thing is he has a gig this Thursday in Newport and I'll put money down that he makes that show. Oh well, he bailed on a nice paycheck and he flaked on an awesome party. The DJ talent is rising year by year as well. For next years Groove Cruise, Jason from Whettravel is in the process of booking Sharam, Bob Sinclair and Sander K!!

Friday, July 20
I had to be at work at 4:30 AM and I worked until 12:00 noon. I got off work and my girlfriend and I drove to Long Beach to get to the Monarch of the Seas. There were no lines or hassles getting onto the boat. Got onto the boat at 1:00 and there were already around 400 of the 600 Groove Cruisers on the boat. The drinking binge started right then and there! I'm actually ashamed of myself because I didn't make it to the Friday night meet & greet, dinner AND the first party of the trip with Glaude and D:fuse. :( I had 4 double shots of Captain Mo., 5 Corona's and a pina colada. I was throwing up by 4:30 and slept the whole night into Saturday morning. I woke up at 9:00 on Saturday morning though and I had 16 hours of sleep under my belt which was more than enough to party the rest of weekend and at Papas & Beer on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, July 21
After everyone woke up Saturday morning we all headed off the boat, got onto the buses and went to Papas & Beer. The Papas & Beer party lasted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with Alex Peace, Lavelle and Frances spinning. Nothing but bowls, buckets of Dos Equis Amber, more herb and great music at P&B!! On the way back to the boat we stopped for the best food of the whole weekend...at this little carne asada stand. Best goddam tacos and enchiladas I've ever had!! Everyone was back on the boat by 5:30 and that's when the first pool party of Saturday started. There was a resident Royal Caribbean DJ that was spinning but it was one of those crap "I spin the Maccarena DJ's".... THAT! All the old folks and other regular cruise ship patrons were dancing to that ty music then the Groove Cruise crowd boo'd and we got a real DJ up there to spin some real music. It was actually very hilarious when the bangin house music started because all the old folks looked disgusted with us and our music, saw the way we danced and left the pool deck. :D :haha: That pool party lasted a couple hours then it was time for the formal dinner. We all got dressed in our nicest threads and headed to dinner. Had some Mahi Mahi tempura that was dank and drank a few cocktails. After dinner it was time for the real party to start. Just like last year, the Saturday night pool party is always the biggest and most impressive on the boat. It starts at 1:00 AM and it goes until sunrise! D:fuse started the pool party off perfectly the first hour with a great house/percussion set and warmed up the decks for Glaude. Partied so hard at the pool party then went to the afterhours party from 6 AM-11 AM. :D

Sunday, July 22
One word.....hangover. There was an afternoon pool party on Sunday but almost no one made it out as we were all sleeping. My girlfriend and I slept until 7 PM, went up to the buffet to get some pizza in our stomachs which didn't go down too well then got dressed and headed to the casino. I sat down and bought $180 in chips and started playing the lowest minimum table on the boat, $10 min. Once I got my stack up to $300 I started playing $25-$50 a hand and stayed there for a while as it was up and down. A new dealer came to sit down for the next hour session and this is the point where my hangover from the pills and the booze the previous night suddenly got ALOT lighter! The first hand she sat down for I bet $125 and received two face cards with the dealer showing a 4. I had the corner seat and was last to act and when the action got around to me I decided to split solely based on the intention of getting two more great cards to make a grip of cash (and I didn't really care if everyone else at the table got mad at me for doing so). The first card came off and it was a 6 which was a bust card for my first $125 but I stayed and then a Jack came off for my second $125 hand and I was happy with the 20. The dealer flipped her second card and it was a face card....pulled her third card and it was an 8 and she busted by 1!!! :haha: :haha: I won $250 on that hand and just kept betting nothing less than $100/hand. Started ordering drinks again and another hour passed by. I put $200 on my last hand and lost it but I walked away $900 and change up. I paid for my whole trip, all the booze, food and drugs with it and you can guess how pleased I was to go on this trip for free!! Woot!

At 11 PM Sunday night we all headed the Groove Cruise white party with Scotty Boy, Lavelle and Glaude spinning again...so much fun that night as well!

Monday, July 23
The boat docked at 5 AM and we were off the boat by 7 AM. Slept all day and now I'm in tip top shape!

Note for next year for all of you TA's: I hope that atleast of few of you make it out next year for the Groove Cruise, you will have so much fun! Plus the lineup next year will be nuts. Sander, Sharam and Sinclair? How can you say no?

1 - The boat goes to Ensenada
2 - $550 for the entire weekend
3 - The entire boat is not booked full for the Groove Cruise simply because there are not enough people that sign up. Last year we had 400 people and this year we had 650 people on the boat that belonged to the Groove Cruise. There are still normal patrons on the boat but they're never around because they can't handle the vibe, the music or the party people on the boat. :D
